  1. PM me for other tricks...
  2. We opted to take it easy in the prologue as to 'save some' for the rest of the race. But afterwards we regretted not going harder. If your preparation in the 6 months up to the epic is spot on, you'll get stronger as the race progresses, going hard in the prologue wont affect the following stages. It's only 25 to 30 odd km's (and shouldn't take longer than 2 hours assuming you have no crashes or technicals), which is nothing in the greater scheme of things.
  3. All for an additional +/- R20k extra, over and above your entry.
  4. I'd me more concerned about the weight of the Flux killing your neck. I had a black camo one, then bought a white one. Thought my neck was getting sore due to incorrect bike set-up, till I changed to a Bell Sweep. No more neck pain.
  5. I hope to get me another AM bike and join you guys on our next trip.
  6. Value for money is definitely a matter of personal opinion and individual circumstance. For me the Epic wasn't value for money at all. But then, I don't really have that much of it. I'd definitely sooner spend less on a European trip. But it was an experience of a lifetime and one I'd recommend to anybody who has the means to do it, at least once.
  7. The Epic and Sani2c are as different from one another as The Epic and riding European trails are. Sani2c is boring by comparison. Comparable to the spruit for sure.
  8. Maa se purse...?
  9. Good on ya, Fred...!
  10. Seems Cape Town is rampant with bike theft at the mo.
  11. Let us know when your shop is opening... I'd like to bring my bike in for a service 2 weeks before. Your mechanic had better be ready...
  12. You can buy forestry passes from the tourism information centre in Sabie as far as I can remember. They'll be able to point you in the right direction.
  13. They have a lot of cool looking wheels on that site. Google translate screwed them on the names though... Love these black ones for a stealth Chinese carbon framed Singlespeed project. These for a project for the Mrs.
  14. XX1 doesn't include brakes in that +/- R12-13k price tag. Wonder if XO1 will...
  15. The rear is wobbling a bit. I'll buckle it properly then I'll come see you.
  16. I also like that the brake cable routing is external. Only thing I don't like is the cable routing under the down tube. Much prefer it under the top tube. Otherwise a sick frame. And matte UD is a great choice.
  17. Aaah man, and i didn't even crack an invite to spectate...
  18. I have Industry 9 hubs with I9 spokes and 26" Crest rims, which are a bit soft. Is it possible to 'swop' the crests for ArchEX without having to buy new spokes...? I9 spokes are damn expensive, and as far as I know/can see, I have to run I9 spokes with these hubs as they aren't normal J bend...
  19. While we're on the subject... There's a program on channel 181 at 20:57 called Cycling's Greatest Fraud, about Lance. Apparently with new/recent interviews with members of his inner circle. *sorry, see it was already posted here https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/127579-speak-of-the-devil-armstrong/#entry1965263
  20. Try David Walsh's 7 Deadly Sins next.
  21. I'd like to witness somebody on a fixie simply pedal backwards from speed to slow down. That'll be entertaining.
  22. Just pedal backwards...?
  23. They're like your saddle's very own ball sack...
  24. Yup, a full lap at suikerbosrand will give u the climbing.
  25. That Torq Craft one doesn't look too bad for the money. It looks almost exactly like the Ryder one in fact.
