  1. Good ol' Kneecaps...
  2. Hahaha...! I'm pressed for space at home till i move at the end of the month, so i haven't been able to buy a proper work stand etc. Graham at Rietvlei/Cycle Hub has kindly offered to let me build it there using his tools n stand while he talks me through it. It's the 1st full build i'm tackling myself.
  3. Oh ****, is this a 29r...?
  4. Oh, these go faster valve caps and the decals on the Stan's rims have a bit of red too.
  5. I originally wanted black but couldn't find one in 100mm length at a good price. Then i saw the red saddle and went for the stem to match, should complete the theme nicely. Everything but the stem, saddle and red in the frame is going to be black.
  6. Brake cables cut to the correct lengths and swopped around to the 'proper' way, front on the right. Lockout cable fitted.
  7. Fork and stem fitted and steerer trimmed down. Will take a bit more off after a proper set-up.
  8. Didn't take a pic of the groupset before starting to assemble. It's full XT. Here's the BB and Crank fitted.
  9. A lil preliminary mock-up in the lounge.
  10. RockShox Sid RLT Dual Air with cable PushLoc Remote. 9mm QR.
  11. Full Ritchey WCS Cockpit With ESI Chunky's
  12. It's in my kitchen.
  13. Working on resizing the pics. Bare with me a couple mins.
  14. Not the one that took me to Epic 'fame'. The one I'm currently busy with. Everybody likes a good build thread, so here's how mine's progressing. When I'm done I'll give a complete breakdown of costs and where I bought each item etc. 2012 Santa Cruz Highball frame. Came with a Cane Creek Ten Tapered Headset. May upgrade it if it becomes necessary.
  15. Ooh, SPUR...!!! I'm gonna go there on thursday and show them there is indeed a bottom on the rib n wing special... Stopped eating yesterday just to prove it...
  16. Looks like it was your 16th Castle draught...
  17. For MTB, if there's rain then there's mud, and even on the road there's enough spray off the rear tyre to soil any light colours. Black with reflective piping etc is the way.
  18. I NEEED IT...!!!
  19. That must be a one off spray job though. All the pics I've seen are either the lumo yellow frame,or the matt black with blue and orange writing on the carbon frames, and in the alu ones are either black with blue writing or white with blue/grey writing.
  20. Close... The Highball H Hero.
  21. What a coincidence... I too have just started building my new bike...
  22. Really busy at work today, some comments I'd like to make and respond to, so I'll post a bit later. You know, to rally up support and sympathy etc for poor old me.
  23. If I'm gonna be in the saddle for more than 3 hours then yes, or if I'm gonna ride 2 or more long rides back to back. Madaji milking cream.
