  1. I don't agree Clinton - it's people going beyond their limits that causes them to crash (or swerving for other people) - in my eye the route was good. Yes, some technical places, but you could walk ALL of them and had PLENTY warning to get off beforehand. MTBers should HTFU
  2. Jah, and running. What the hell man. I'm sure you've got a ton of cycling things you can say, you've been MC'ing cycling events since Methuselah retired. I missed Max Cluer, he's always good on the mike (and knows at least 63.25% of cyclists on the start line)

  4. I've promised Gerhard that I'll ride as a cow next year, but I'm going to add the condition that it won't be in a suit - that'll kill me
  5. How in the sweet name of all that is holy do you guys survive in those suits? I loved the D batch, did as well as I hoped, was a hard day out. I walked the first part of the concrete strip, then got back on and pedaleed the last stretch. Pity no-one in front of me noticed so I couldn't get past (even though I asked) but hey, at least I went past when they stopped to mount up again. Didn't see them again after that
  6. You're gonna have to speak up, I caren't like to hear what you're saying? But I agree
  7. serra de leba pass. I've often wondered how cool it would be to bike up and down there. It climbs around 1450m in 10km, has 12 hairpins ... I smell a roadtrip.
  8. Sjoe glad you're ok. Send me a bank account number and I'll pop in R100 towards helping to get you back on the road. Add another R50 if you klapped him proper!
  9. (the cat's out of the hat) - If you have a history of longer distances, you automatically shift up a few batches for shorter distances
  10. That was silly. Yes it is. You get R10 for every rider that enters a race that you do no work for, can advertise at etc.
  11. Shouldn't you rather be pedaling?
  12. Half marathon: There's a lot (100m) less climbing at this one than Cullinan, but there's a ton more singletrack. Dunno how this one is going to shape up, but I'm expecting a cracker!
  13. Sat http://weather.news24.com/Images/Icons/Forecasts/33.gif Showers early. More sun than clouds. Pleasantly warm. 29°C 12°C 12km/h NW UV High 20% chance of 3mm rain

  15. I had almost those exact times as you in those two races, although I started in J for Hazeldean and E for Cullinan. It's not about times, but about placings - overall, category etc, and then about who entered the current race. With a few obvious mistakes (like JCZA) the system is actually making sense ...
  16. There's your answer. Hat, coat, door
  17. Seeded in D for the half Was in J for #1 and E in #2.
  18. I've (lately) been very chilled about these cage-fighters - I roll up to them (when I inevitably catch up with them at a robot or stop street) and very, very, very politley ask them to indicate when changing lanes, or leave a little gap for us cyclists etc. Reaction? Utter embarasment on their part. I must admit however that I started doing this after ripping a delivery bus's wing mirror off one morning after he tried to push me off the road twice.
  19. Did you get a mail?
  20. It's dark in the forrests
  21. I'm in the vicinity next weekend Gonna go exploring a bit, pls send co-ords via PM!
