  1. They're damn fast, good wearing (done around 3800km on them and only now time to swop front and back to get even wear, guessing 7000km easy) nice grip on the road etc. They're not awesome offroad, they're slippery as hell, and prone to punctures. But yah, on the road they're great (especially at Skelomons' special of R150 each) I run them with tubes and slime.
  2. I've got a commuting set (rims that came with the bike plus bontrager CR1's) and a trail / race set (Bontrager Lite rims and Maxxis Crossmark tires) Works well for me
  3. Hey, isn't that the same day as the Crater Cruise?
  4. It adjusts on the cleat (the part on your shoe) actually The cleat has circles/dots on it - if the cleat with two dots is on your right shoe they will release at around 15 degrees, if it's on the left shoe they will release at 20 degrees. Ie turn your foot more or less The springs auto adjust the tension so you can't set them like a Shimano SPD.
  5. I got cleats two days before the Curro race - not as bad as I thought. make sure they're loose (yes you can adjust candy's) and then practice practice practice. A neat trick to get used to before the race is to NOT clip in just as you start, use the middle part of your foot to get going and then clip in once you're rolling forward. Good luck!
  6. I also schmaak those socks. Red makes you faster! Graspolle? Ag nee demmit my aching back I bloody hate those things, I took an 11 meter winger rock climbing some 15 years ago and my back still hurts when I do crap like ride over graspolle.
  7. Water bottles maybe? Shirts at first one, then buffs, then socks. Yup.

  20. Ok some details are emerging. She dropped her boy off at school, then got on her bicycle to train for the Pretoria-PE tour (to raise funds for cochlear implants) She was struck from behind by a bakkie, somewhere in Elarduspark close to the Rietvlei nature reserve (will post better position later) She flew 30m through the air and hit a tree which broke her neck on impact. The driver of the bakkie stopped, there are eyewitnesses but more details are not known. Everyone that knew her is devastated. Guess there's going to be a ton of tears this weekend.
