  1. 2 hours a week and a 'base' session over weekends ... what other sport is that seeding in?
  2. Also doing my first one on Saturday
  3. I tried, you can't cycle in the reserve. They're full of crap. I ended up doing some road riding, although there's a nice dirt road to Stoffberg and back. I don't know of any trails in the area apart from that one 4x4place on the way back to Middelburg ... whatsitsname ... Something Gorge.
  4. tyerone, try looking for Byron Fereirra (helpmytrap on the hub) - they ride that area VROT and there's a ton of routes that you can try
  5. I'm way overdue for a ride at VG - lemme chat to the minister of funny looks tonight, let you know tomorrow morning.
  6. If it weren't for the clipped-in bit I could've sworn it's ... uhm ... uhm ... our resident Spruit Ninja.
  7. Forgot to add: Can we see that number quickly?
  8. Thanks Super J - can we send cards/biltong/flowers yet?
  9. Oh you sonofabitch.
  10. Oh jinne this is like an acid flashback. Did I just say that out loud?
  11. Yes, yes, but you're a fookin machine on a bike. Fookin hell. Point above proven!
  12. There's several. The ones on the south side goes from roughly the radio tower to the R21 gate, and is 99% downhill. There's basically two options there, the 'tree to tar' trail and the jeep track / tweespoorpaadjie that runs next to the fence. The trail gets hairy, as it's lots of loose and sharp rocks, and at the moment is very washed out. On the North side you go from the radio tower down to a split, where you can hook a short left to the reservoirs and back onto tar (short, maybe 1km in total) or hook right down to George storrar corner, from where you can hit the fenceline back to the R21 corner and then uphill back to the R21 gate, or you can go left and UP what is locally known as the WTF climb - 7% and loose which also comes out near the R21/George storrar corner, for the climb back. A favourite loop is down the south side, over the tar, down next to the R21 fence to George storrar, then up to the Radio tower, and from there either back down the south side or down by tar. There's also a 'proper' downhill track from the entrance to the fort to the R21, but at the moment it is not recommended, super washed out, jumps broken and pieces missing.
  13. And maybe number of entries allowed as well ...
  14. Not yet, a mate did it and was well chuffed. Reckons it's the best hing he's done in a while Going to give it a go next year if funds allow.
  15. LOL yeah. Other slight detours include going past Nkwe in the East, or hitting the sand quarry near Avondzon from the North side.
  16. Also add Jozi2Kozi
  17. Thanks Dubber, that's a handy list
  18. I commute over KK every couple of days (from Garsfontein to Queenswood) - it's a great break from the normal route. There's also many options on KK, from tar to the two different trail sides ... South side trail, going down, is fairly busy every day. North side (where there's more trees and bush) not so much, depending on time of year. But there's pretty much always someone there.
  19. Vis, when do you want to ride there? You can always just request a 'group ride' or 'buddy needed'
  20. I've never seen the trails empty between 15:30 and 18:30 ...
  21. .... and couple that with a competition for 'best race face' or 'dirtiest look' or somthing along those lines ...
  22. Sabie Xperience qould also be great .. Thinking about it a bit, you can market it to organizers and participants by creating 'load you twitter updates about #theraceyoujustfinished and facebook/instagram photos here' - double marketing for you and the race, as well as a nice-to-have for riders ... methinks.
  23. Not good, but yes, there's been many incidents there.
  24. I'd rather push my bicycle with two flat wheels barefoot through the snow
