  1. My Yeti took me high into the mountain where I found these Porcini mushrooms (Boletus edulis). Raided a baboon troop who were also picking them. They swore at me plenty, but the foolish animals were just picking and eating the stalks, so all I had to do was to pick up the fruiting bodies and stuff my Camelback, and pockets. The advantage of riding with a Camelback.
  2. Thanks. Good read.
  3. My gran had Alzheimer's, I'll always remember that she recognized me the last time I visited her. it's so sad that that is the first thing I remember about her, and not the rest of her life.
  4. Listening to a few old songs from Echo and the Bunnymen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ6OqyAQJj0 and Julian Cope in Teardrop Explodes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDOOTFIaF98
  5. No man Fanie, spiders are lekker man. I've some how managed to keep a big rain-spider in our lounge for 3 weeks now, and haven't been asked to remove it, think my family are starting to relent. They eat lots of bugs.
  6. Country Music Hall of Fame member, Glen Campbell ,who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011, is out with the video for the final song he’ll ever record — “I’m Not Gonna Miss You.” I have to say this is so powerful to anyone that has had to deal with Alzheimer’s first hand…So sad that this disease exists and we don’t have a cure yet, don’t you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=U8TsAh-zYFI
  7. It's a cheap fake :0
  8. I always have a pocket knife in my pockets, usually a small swiss knife, and also keep a skinner in my bakkie, for when I have to PM a dead animal, and also a Leatherman Wave, mostly on my belt, but sometimes in my bakkie. On Friday I was at an local Agric Show, and I found a chap selling junk, but he also had a small box with what seemed to be pretty good knives, at reasonable prices. i bought this knife, it's branded a Boker, but I only paid R150 for it, seems genuine . I'll mail a pic to Boker, see what they say.
  9. My rod must go back in my bakkie, watchout bass. Buddy that i rode with today says that the yellows in his river are very active ????

  12. Why don't you try your LBS (local bottle store) and see if you can get a keg or two of castle light, and a puller. Don't know if this would do, but it would deffo be the most cost effective, if you can get it right. Do they even do this anymore, I remember getting them for digs parties many moons ago.
  13. They're a bit pricey, but... http://www.leagueofbeers.com/mini-kegs.htm?results=50
  14. The Bigwig, a bit dirty, but then it's used a fair bit. 32x17. I like the X0 chain-guide as a chain keeper, keeps it looking neat
  15. I could imagine the sound...
  16. Ok, good. I don't go to King much so I wouldn't know.
  17. Hi David, have you got accommodation in King yet. PM me if you still need accom, and I'll get working on friends.
  18. If you look at the pics of the Freedom Challenge finishers, some of them wear their bibs over their shirts, esp if it's cold, makes for a much warmer boskak. I've done that on loooong winter rides, keeps everything tucked in, and you don't get sneaky breezes. Who knows with that bunch of fools though, maybe they ate something dodgy the night before I really enjoyed reading James Clark's exploits.

  25. Thanks Uni, she is a sweetie, ask Tumbles. Living on a farm, with a fence that's not dog proof, surrounded by sheep= recipe for disaster. So the answer has to be no. Also we have a sheepdog, Jackie, and 2 cats, that's enpugh pets for now.
