  1. Most of this is sketchy at best. Please don't say things if you're not sure what you're talking about. Medicine is really one of those things where you can know enough to be dangerous.
  2. Sinus brady (assuming this is what you have) is not a problem unless it gives your symptoms. Go have it seen to by a doctor. Ask him to do an ECG. Probably nothing to worry about.
  3. Honestly, its actually quite easy, as I'll show you with this visual demonstration. Schwinn: Pinarello: Sure, its not about the bike, but when its that pretty, maybe its a little about the bike.
  4. Besides 12 laps of will he, wont he catch him action. A nice duel at the end, Vettel overtaking 10 cars, Iceman being Iceman (and failing). I could go on, but you catch my drift. Far from the most boring race IMO, think of Bahrain a couple of years back.
  5. A couple of my favourite creature in the world. Cannot love this oke enough. Brightens my day everytime I get back home.
  6. WMB Trail Bike of the Year 2014, runner up: Cube Stereo 650b Carbon 160mm, 10.9kg
  7. Can't tell if you okes are being facetious or not! (It's Bane from The Dark Knight Rises btw...)
  8. According to their write up on the France thread, they covered 15km vertically in one day. So yup, I think they've got the Anti-Everesting thing down.
  9. True, but thats not the point.
  10. Fatigue. And you have to make the vertical without rest or sleep between.
  11. Dont think it really matters. Point is, you're gonna be in the saddle for like 10-15 hours. Besides, how long would it take before you got bored. Attempt 10, 25, 50? Madness. Kudo's (literally if you link Strava) to anyone who does this.
  12. According to my Strava data, its a gain of +-900m. So yeah, 10 times up and down the Mast. Not my idea of fun, I must admit.
  13. Good article by Dr. Ross Tucker from SSISA: http://www.sportsscientists.com/2007/07/altitude-training-the-basics/
  14. No, it is there. You need to go to: http://admin.twooceansmarathon.org.za/resultsoverall.aspx, and then select the relevant filters. You then must select download to .pdf, You can get a list of all the results and positions this way.
  15. The Two Oceans website has all the results provisionally available.
  16. It is an absolute shocker. Great to drive on, terrible to run on.
  17. Do it!!! Its the best race in South Africa by a long way.
  18. Shattered, broken, certainly in need of a knee replacement. But what a fantastic race. PBs abounded. I often talk a big game and then dont follow through, but today was not that day. 04:39:20 - Got my Sainsbury.
  19. To everyone who has taken part in this thread: a heartfelt and warm good luck to all of you. It has taken many hours of running and suffering to reach the point you are today, and tomorrow it is time to lay it all out on the road. I wish each and every one of you the best race of your year, 56km, 21km, trails (oops). Hopefully we'll see some impressive times posted here tomorrow afternoon. To anyone who I might see along the way: I'm running in UCT club colours, C25014: Kevin. Come say hi!
  20. Not really. I know that strictly you should, but no one really cares if you wear your club colours or not. Both of my marathons and the ultra I did last year, I didn't run in my club's (UCT) colours. Not really an issue. Although I dont want you to be cuffed on my poor advice.
  21. G, it depends on which data field you have selected. AFAIK, there are the two mentioned by Tankman, which show the total over the ride/run, as well as the elevation field, which shows the current actual elevation in metres, not necessarily the amount of metres climbed.
  22. Must be! Looks like images pulled from a Google Image search.
  23. I dunno if I would go so far as 50km, the last thing you want is DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), that *** seer you get after long exercise, on the same day as you run up the beast that is Southern Cross Drive. Best of luck though, I'm sure you'll do more than just survive. Have a good run.
  24. Best of luck mate. We'll see how the race goes. As far as crowd and vibe goes, I remember last year. Manly tears at the Brewery when they played the anthem and 11000 okes sang in unison, and more manly tears when UCT came into site after 5 and a half hours of running.
  25. What a boytjie. That is a seriously nice thing to do.
