  1. What a dumbass!
  2. Totally agree. Two quality drives from Lewis back-to-back. I dunno if he'll win the championship, but I guess we'll see. Ricciardo is definitely a quality driver, what a move on Lewis to get second and then first. Agree re Vettel, no the worlds best IMHO. Great, great racing!
  3. That Mercedes V8 sounds fantastic (safety car). Strange accident re Perez
  4. Very very cool. Commuter bike?
  5. I know hey. Flip I cant believe he let me. A bit sad that I'll probably not drive a similarly specced car for 20 years or so.
  6. In the slipstream behind one of these bad boys. Family friends car, let me have a ride in it. Good lord, I thought I knew what a fast car was until that pedal hit the floor.
  7. My old man just got one of these. Best handling car I have ever driven. What an absolute riot!
  8. JB, how come you went for the Camber instead of the Enduro? Would have thought the Camber and your Epic are a bit close in terms of function, and Enduro might have been a nicer All-Mountain bike?
  9. Unlucky man, feel better soon!
  10. Why change if it works for you? Going standard will give you more top end, but could also add unnecessary gear ratios to your setup, in that there will be some gears that overlap. Currently, I ride 11-23 with a 53-39 standard crankset, struggle a bit on the hills further into rides with such a low easy gear. When my cassette is next due for replacement, I'll probably go for 11-25. Unfortunately, Campagnolo cassettes last longer than time itself. In answer to your question, I would either stay compact with 11-23/25, or go standard with 11-25/27. Beyond that it is personal preference and riding style.
  11. Thank you. Please stop comparing cars to bikes. Cars have so much more technology and research that go into them, especially compared to bikes.
  12. There's a massive difference, but only to further your (correct IMHO) point. A bicycle is such a simple device, especially compared to a car.
  13. Fair point, but shouldn't he have then come out an said he'd been ill? Taken antibiotics? Maybe still have the container to show them? Also, I don't think that drugs companies will "lace" a product with another just to get a desired effect. The drug industry is regimentally controlled, so they would have to declare that the drug you're taking is a combination. I want to believe his innocence, but what has he provided i.t.o defence that we can give him some credit for. Ignorance is not a defence in my opinion.
  14. What questions? As far as I know, probenecid is not widely used anymore. It is not on the SA EDL (essential drugs list) or the standard treatment guidelines for 2012, but was there in 1998 version of the same document. It was an anti-gout (uricosuric), but these days allopurinol and colchicine are preferred. It used to be used to increase the concentration of antibiotics, but that seems to have fallen out of favour (in the VERY little research I have done, it seems that antibiotics + probenecid was not better than drug alone).
  15. Yeah I would think so. Just on the fact that it doesn't take that long to get of your system anyway. Hence other peoples (correct IMHO) claims that any amount is too much, as it could have just been picked up on the back end of the plasma concentration curve.
  16. No, what you're describing is a diuretic. This is a uricosuric (that is it encourages the kidneys to get rid of uric acid at the expense of other drugs) hence the other drugs are not excreted in the urine at a normally expected rate. It does not make you urinate more.
  17. Basic pharmacology principles
  18. Depends on its method of clearance and whether it is fat or water soluble. But a safeish estimate is usually around 5x the half life of the drug, which is 2-6 hours dosage dependent.
  19. Absolutely. That Enduro is a work of art!
  20. The 2014 Enduro tips the scales at 12.5kg. Cant be that bad to pedal uphill.
  21. Even Deore brakes are quality
  22. I think that's a bit shortsighted. Not saying that Spez isn't good (as it obviously is), but there are a variety of other quality bikes out there that you're not even considering, and you're likely going to be paying a lot of money for your bike. So why not test outside of the Spez range? Some options: Trek Fuel Intense T275 Ibis HDR Niner Jet RDO I can go on, but you get my point.
