  1. Northcliff water tower? Rough guess from last Jozi visit.
  2. Some NSAIDs are more selective in terms of Cox1 vs Cox2 inhibition, but the truly selective ones are not readily available. I, personally, would rather just stay away from NSAIDs. Along with the prostaglandin effects, they are also implicated in interstitial nephritis which further worsens the renal risk. As for other painkillers, I don't think that opiods or paracetamol are going to be of worthwhile benefit. They may ease the pain, but there you might be more inclined to just HTFU. I'm sure V12 will elaborate further.
  3. There you go. Point made.
  4. Don't come here with your reasoning and common sense. What this guy said!
  5. Cause they ARE sooooo expensive. Seriously, for the same cash, you can get a better specced anything else. Specialized just seem to the market under some sort of spell.
  6. This isn't exactly the greatest line of argument, especially when comparing it to a $pecialized...
  7. Absolutely, you must service a Fox fork regularly. Even if the stanchion above the seal looks fine, if you have a worn seal and dirt gets in, the stanchion below the seal can get scuffed and ruined. Rather spend the cash servicing the fork now, to save yourself cash outflow in the future.
  8. Only the post button apparently.
  9. My recent get-pumped song.
  10. Cap, R3500 from Cycleworx umhlanga, think they have one set left
  11. Excellent service from these chaps. Great price, great service and happy to accommodate a customer's specific needs. Top quality guys! Keep it up.
  12. Tends to occur as part of a whole atopic syndrome. Not uncommon to see people with hayfever, red eyes, sniffles and asthma.
  13. And to round off a perfect day's purchasing, a 11sp Carbon Campagnolo Record crank
  14. Got myself a set of Mavic Crossmax ST 26". Many thanks to Chainworx Cycles for an awesome service and a great price.
  15. Fair enough. Have a good time on your new bike. Sure it'll meet and pass your expectations.
  16. Cool man! Remember to take a picture and post it here for all Hubville to see. Enjoy the new bike. P.S Why the change to Momsen?
  17. Unfortunately, the mainstay of treatment in asthma is an inhaled corticosteroid (at least at your level on the stepladder), combined with a bronchodilator. You should not have any symptoms during the day (well controlled is <2 symptoms per week), so you should chat to your doctor about shifting you to a higher dose of the Foxair possibly. I'm in the same boat as you, and have my asthma well controlled on a higher dose of the ICS. Go to your doctor and have a chat, and perhaps ask for a referral to a pulmonologist.
  18. What he said! Note that Audible had some good points as well. Check the list that he put up. Especially silly things like seat tube diameter. I dont think the BB should be a problem, as I think that the Momsen will be 24mm BSA, so your Octalink can screw right in.
  19. I've been asthmatic for many years, and I only truly learnt to use them properly at medical school, after being thoroughly embarrassed by Prof. Ainslie.
  20. I suspect that the Vida 4 has a straight steerer, which is not a train-smash. You'll need to get a reducer headset, which takes a tapered frame and allows a straight steerer to be used in it. The shorter head tube will not be an issue as far as I can see. Everything else should bolt straight on.
  21. Top advice, as per usual. Remember to use the pump properly: Shake well, exhale, puff and deep breath in, hold for 10s, breathe out!
  22. Whilst, you can buy bronchodilator pumps like Ventolin etc., over the counter, it is probably wise to go be assessed by a doctor or pulmonologist and for them to lay out the most effective treatment plans. Exercise is one of the triggers for underlying asthma, that may (or may not) be needed to be better controlled through a steroid inhaler. You shouldn't be having as many symptoms as you do for your "asthma" (don't want to label you here) to be considered well controlled. Short-acting bronchodilators are useful for relief of a tight chest, but are not really indicated as a preventative measure for exercise induced asthma. Have a chat to the doctor and see what is said. Probably a lot more good will come out of that. Happy km's ahead!
  23. Really? So you knew exactly what he meant, right? Why did you feel the need to point that out to everyone? Everyone knows that Loctite is a brand for thread-locker, but everyone also refers to it colloquially as Loctite. Is it strictly correct? Nope, but everyone knows what you mean if you say Loctite. Seriously bro, that has gotta be one of the most pointless posts on the Hub, and that's saying something.
  24. Chainrings are shaped more oval than perfectly round. Like so:
  25. That's exactly how evidence-based medicine works. Take one isolated example where a treatment "supposedly" helped you and blanket it across all homeopathic remedies. It has been consistently shown to be no better than placebo. And honestly, the concept is so whack. Diluting something makes it stronger, curing like with like. Madness.
