  1. poor guy, only got one hand.
  2. VERY UNCOOL !!
  3. no, I dont want white, it just so unpractical to buy white MTB shoes, unless Bill Gates is sponsering you.
  4. Statement 1: It was in Devon, 8km into the ride and they were riding three abreast. Statement 2: We however only ended up doing 150km's as there was a terrible accident a guy in our group went over the white line and an oncoming truck went into him == And than there is still some off you who have a opinion if other cyclist gets upset because you disobey the traffic rules? YES, SOMEONE DIE, It looks like he made that choice himself. Do not blame the Organizers !! In afrikaans: As jy nie wil hoor nie, moet jy voel
  5. fricken hell, even a discussion on this? I dont give a **** if you think bar ends is cool or uncool. What qualification do you need to decide if something is cool or uncool? Its like me telling you that white mtb shoes is uncool?
  6. condolences to the family One question = quote:"8km into the ride and they were riding three abreast" = Is this true?
  7. 50 sent, ek ry 'n 16", dis 'n small. maar jy sallie weet want jy sien hom mos gewoonlik net van agter af :-) nee man, gaan kyk hoe lyk 'n small 29ér,... komieklik,
  8. No, dont get me wrong. The guys on the 29érs will claim that its the best. And its fine. The only point is to now jump on the 29ér band wagon is wrong, I rode a 29ér hardtail (small)last week, and the riding position do not fit or I'm to doff to understand. Than, remember, the manufacturers now push this it your noses to make sure that when the Giants, scotts and merida's get the value for money options on the market, they sold enough. Wonder how mane of the current 29 manufacturers will be on the block by the time the well known brands hits the shop floor. For me, I'll stay with a 26ér, 2min faster on a 25km route makes no diffrence in the prize money, I cannot win. This 29 vs 26 debate is like the campy vs shimano, champioship chip vs winning time chip. If you have enough money to buy a 29ér , go and do it. But do not tell me that with this new technology, the normal guy in the street can convince me about the advantages.
  9. all depends when they dissapear, but most probable zevenwacht as the guys are saying, or even up the big hill to the kliphuis? or do they dissapear at the end of bottlary? then they go along the rail track
  10. yes, and it will have campagnola blue groupset.
  11. Hi I decided to cycle to work again in the morning. thanks
  12. I saw someone say he is 2 min quicker on a 29ér (that 2min faster in a hours riding time) Is that just a look at the watch, or some special timing setup? or is it just the newly opened box of pronutro that morning. To spend this much money on hearsy, or because the pro's ride it , is a bit doff I.M.O 2min on the road will make a diff, its the seeding between the D and B Argus group, and we all know, thats the world funride championship, but on a mtb, were it all depends on terrain, how you feel or who you ride with. GUYS, This is the oldest trick in the book for the manufacturers, Gets the debate going and SELL to the gulables. There is nothing wrong with your 26"MTB.. All the world cup MTB races till today was won on a 26ers. YOU STILL NEEDS TO GO OUT AND TRAIN.
  13. 2096 for the mtb, 2 bar monorails
  14. There is no change that the 26érs will die. Yes, people will buy 29érs, but also keep the 26érs. But the 26érs will not loose value. There is just to many 26'rs in the world and on the shop floors.
  15. I read the comments. What size bike was the 29ér? I rode a small 2 weeks agao, you acctually sits on or over the back wheel. When you climb and you move your bum back to push power from the hip, you go to far back. Making the front wheel lift from the ground For me, if you ride a small, stay with a 26.
  16. Can you ride the route backwards? Maybe if they do that than they will get more a mix of guys riding it every second year? not sure, If its a good quality race, specially mtb were they can only house limited riders, it will happened. Heard a interesting story about the Epic, 1200 riders, more than 700 support people in the race village.
  17. ""Homer = However, if we as the local MTB community can prove to the landowners that we can use their property in a responsible manner, more farms will come on board and join the trail system. This area has a lot of potential for MTB." If we as cyclist shows these farmers that we really care, do not leave our junk on the trails, do not try and ride for free, this is the excact motorist who will care for us when we meet on the public roads.
  18. If we look at the current security and danger on the roads, is that R270 not worth wile paying to have a car free / muggings free and super enjoyable ride? I think it will be every penny worth. One thing to considder is to going in partnership with a coffee shop on the land and mabe get your permit stamp till you had 10 rides, get a bottomless coffee for free This will ensure the guys do not go to mug and bean or muldersvlei, but rather spend more time on the trail, getting more bikes/members and at the end of the ride, getting the bums in the coffee shop, not only drinking coffeee, but bbuing muffins as well
  19. we got showers at work as well
  20. dirtman. I dont wanne pay R30 first and than R270 afterwards. Why cant I just pay the R270? If I came down b'larey, (from the golf course), how far (=- km) before I get to Hartenberg?
  21. nobody, No ,I'm not in that shape.I was off the bike for 9months. I'm starting on Monday again, if it is not raining. I'm going to ride the route on Sunday to check and get use to it again.
  22. I normally cycle from B'fell, Start about 5h40 and in town at about 7 = 32km into town. Can you go through the Harbout Entrace at the Parrden Eiland side? I know about a quiet turn off, just after Century City, you turn left and pass infront of that soccer club, I think there is also a vodacom signal tower. You then go over Koeberg Rd at the bottom and go straight down till you get the bridge in beach road. Than you should be able to pop on the bicycle lane.
