Modder is and always has been an amazing track. Been riding there for years and just concerned at the amount of Roads being carved through there? What's with that? it is definitely one of the safer placed to ride and is always a jol, black jacks and overgrown paths to boot. Stay safe out there.

Jis now that was such a lekker read and those pictures are just beautiful. We have so much to offer in this country and just take a chance on a road less traveled. Jis I am up for this type of riding. Done road, MTB, and now this looks just so lekker!! thanks for those amazing pics just so beautifully done. I am helping Alex Harris out with the Munga again this year and there is some awesome gravel riding there as well. Bloem to Wellington in the Cape, 1094ks unassisted, finishing over the Bainskloof Pass.....check it out.....the Munga. Some absolutely beautiful sights along that route as well. Thanks for sharing this ride dudes well done...

I ride at Modder all the time. You cannot believe how the litter is just starting to pile up there too......c'mon people FFS, how difficult can it be to just put your crap in your back pocket until you get back home. Jeez man, unreal!!! I do also know that a lot of the waste is also from the workers in the park, unless some cyclists have taken to carrying 5l Valpre bottles and sweet chilli Doritos .....large packets on rides???

I don't want to rant. I just want to know if the Suikerbosrand reserve is still closed to cyclists?? Does anyone know??

I ride often at the Modderfontein Nature Reserve, and on the tar road inside the reserve i have nearly been knocked over/down on at least four occasions witth "cyclists"/idiots behind the wheel trying to get to the pay gate before me, and then also the park run clowns leaving the reserve come flying down the tar road at well over 100 kph to rush home, and bugger any cyclists using the private road in the reserve, so yes it is a mentality thing of most SA drivers. get out of the way or my 4x4 will flattten you, and they are cyclists/runners themselves. At the end of the day, cyclists will just not win.

hahahahah what a lag!! I agree completely. I used to be one of those f#@ctards too but never ever rode in an organised Chapter/Group. I rode alone or with my mates and being first and foremost a cyclist, I was always a leeker dude on the rode towards my non-motorised buddies. I have almost given up with road riding now days.....just too much politics. I ride my MTB almost all the time, always in the veld, and I would love to see a bunch of Harley posers push me off a single track!!!! hahahah good luck with that "Blue Oyster Captain"

i have mixed feelings about the guy, but if i bumped into him in the street one day, I would still shake his hand and say well done bud, you were still an amazing athlete, drugs or no drugs.

Yip I saw a dude on this bike last week in Dunkeld across from the Fournos Bakery. He definitely doesnt fit the profile of a MTBer!!!! I am sure this bike is HOT and I was actually going to approach him but couldnt get to him in the traffic. What you guys reckon....if I see him again I am actually going to approach him and ask him where he "got" THIS BIKE!!!

There is only one machine to buy and that is a Krups/Nespresso machine. Swiss Genius!! It is the best on the market. I also have a fancy Italian coffee machine worth 4 times the amount of the Nespresso, and doesnt even befin to compare, and its a schlep to!!!
