  1. It's this that I struggle with all the time, at social gatherings. The ingrained NEED to always have a drink, when you actually don't. Doesn't matter what that drink is, it's the alcoholic version of a ciggie in a smoker's hand.
  2. The rock on TM is made up of quartzitic sandstone, which is incredibly hard and sharp, as well as Cape Granite, and mudstone. All of them are just waiting for tyres...
  3. This man, and a few others. Exo se poeth, at least at the back. Maybe TM just has pointier rocks?
  4. If you go Aggressor, Tim, get the DoubleDown version. Exo isn't up to the task. I'd also go for the 2.5 WT to be honest. Just a better tyre. Re the rovals - that sucks, man... If he's had 3 blowoffs, then it can't be a bead distortion issue. Must just be something about those rims.
  5. sorry to hear, man. Can't recall reading it before, but condolences all the same. Sucks, man. On the bold text - yeah, I was in the same boat, though for me it was spirits and wine. Not all the time, but when I did let go, I dove deeeep into it. Hence the tee-totalling from NYD.
  6. Lol. That pic was thankfully taken a bit over 2 years ago. Haven't taken one recently but I'm now 12kg lighter.
  7. Put it this way. Grid is good enough for the rocks on TM and Signal Hill trails, and Ezel. And Lesotho. So I think they'll be good enough for Joeys rock. ????
  8. Grid casing is great since the change to the newer Gripton compound. . It's tougher than exo, stiffer than most "protection" casings and shrugs cuts off like nothing. For the front? Grid all day long. I'd call it a tie between that and the snakeskin magic Mary, which is more than enough for the front. Having said that, the black diamond casing is I think arriving within the next couple months.
  9. RF forward, mostly. Dominant is right, but I'm ambi on some things. Right has better small motor control than left. Play golf (lol, hack, more like) and cricket left handed with a wonky grip pattern (right hand up top, left driving)
  10. LOL. Yeah, but I didn't meet my goal and therefore the change was warranted. I've given it a lot of thought, and I've decided to settle on 85kg, which was more or less my weight at my fittest. More or less like in this pic... Know it's not a great one, but much better than the current (and where I've come from, seen below. I shudder at this memory... )
  11. Same thing will happen to your DHF. They share the same side knobs. Also - DHF sorta has transition knobs, they just don't extend as far as the DHR, Mary, Assguy or Eliminator. Nowhere near as big a gap as on the Butcher.
  12. Savage is running one, and it appears just a tad narrower than the 2.5WT and 2.35 Mary. Not enough to make me not buy one, though.
  13. I find braais to be pretty easy to stick to "good" food, until the garlic bread and tjippies come out. Then I have to work REALLY hard to stick to plan, but with a good salad and some meat, it's all achievable. But, I feel your pain. Back when I was still married the inlaws would come around and there'd all of a sudden be a plethora of shaite food options.
  14. Yeah, I wanna go to 165's when my existing crank dies. But it just won't. SLX too strong. Pedal strikes on climbs and descents, and when trying to get a pedal in on a rocky trail are horrible, and there's no reported loss of power as a result of changing to 165's. Some people actually benefit from the change. Smaller circles and all that.
  15. And? Well done for having the skill to overcome a smaller amount of outright grip. Personally, I prefer to have as much as I can, so that my suckage is managed a bit better. Differences between tyres are easily observed, even at warp snail.
  16. edit edit: now 13kg over 2 years, not 3 as originally thought. 98 this am.
  17. You won't be sorry. It and the Eliminator are apparently neck and neck in terms of suitability for pretty much everywhere. Just not sure how the Eliminator will behave in the wet.
  18. I call BS on that one. I reckon it'd be off the back of the field, to be honest.
  19. Start with 780 and then move your grips inwards by 5mm at a time instead of cutting to 740 straight off the bat. Also, change your stem to something between 50 & 70mm at the same time. DO NOT pair the 780 with a 100mm stem. Any MTB that needs a 100mm stem to make it fit, is the wrong size for you. This excludes those XCO & XCM pros who are in the pursuit of ultimate lightness for climbing efficiency and have hte requisite skillset to overcome the handling downfalls of a narrow bar / long stem combo. They are outliers.
  20. Agreed with everything, except the bold. Def not a roadgoing motogp. It IS a roadgoing WSBK tho
