  1. Indola is a good option, available from any sportsmans. As are cape storm, first ascent and others. TLD are rare.... Then there's shreddtech (spelling?) Which have a few options. Otherwise... CRC on end of season sales.
  2. Yes. That, or some kleinwors and dippings. Do that for the kiddies every time.
  3. NICE. I still need to make the murphy bed for our spare room. At the moment the bed is flipped on its side. I think that's this week's project!
  4. I just sigh, tell them what I'm drinking and then take control. He even had a pre-prepared blue cheese stuffed fillet, ready to go. Woooooah Nelly, that goes on LAST.
  5. Most of the braais I go to are BnB, but I guess I must be lucky in that most of the time everyone knows what they brought, and the braaier knows who brought what and how they like it, and is the final arbiter on whose is whose. Only once everyone has taken their meat do we go in for something that looks lekker. Those times that everyone has brought wors and just one has brought tjops or chicken, that obviously doesn't apply. I try to cook the wors to various stages, as there are inevitably those who like it like it should be (mid rare) and those who like it dead. The le creuset cast iron pot gets recruited as a warming pot for chicken, once it's had its initial sear and cook. That sits off to the side of the fire to get hot, so that the chicken can steam in its own juices and be properly cooked without being as tough as an old doorknob. Webers are FANTASTIC tools for things that need a bit more time. Proper Man Ovens. Cooking turkey or a roast of any kind in there with a few soaked wood chips is unbeatable.
  6. Yes and no. I've been to plenty where the host has gotten super sozzled or had to deal with an errant lightie / poo explosion etc and had to step in for him. Then, we got invited to a braai, and then the host reckons "So, Myles - how do you light this thing?" Needless to say... Oh and the tjops thing. Yes. Agreed. Steak, I only let a couple people cook. Likewise for proper lamb chops & pork chops (thick rib chops)
  7. Unfortunately, my commutes are limited to school holidays. I drop the lightie off in the mornings...
  8. Because the chance of people ending themselves due to overestimation of skill was too large. I have a feeling the biggest features will start being open on these days though. There were plenty smaller jumps in the race. Also - last year we moaned quite loudly that some of the bigger jumps were taped off for the races. We'll continue to do that...
  9. Dude. They're all over! At the enduro, there were about 4 or 5 of the same colour Reign 2's. Not to mention all the other reigns that were there. Them and the Enduros. All over the place.
  10. ~80 entrants, all egging each other on and sharing in the stoke. AAARGH! No! I'm getting stoked again! My sternum!!!! Here, have some nachos
  11. HOLY CRAP! That's a lot of climbing.... Well done, HA.
  12. yeah dude, it's soooooo lekker out there now. Trails were MINT today.
  13. Contermanskloof, for the latest round of the WP Gravity Enduro. 4 stages on BRILLIANT trails, with lekker mates, made for an amazing day out. Started off at 9h30 and got to the end at 13h00. Yes, that's a long time, but the format of Enduro sometimes means waiting for your slot to plummet down the trails. Legs have been feeling SUPER *** this past week, so I was just trying to survive today's event without blowing up. Managed to keep going strong, when on Friday arvie I couldn't even do a simple climb without stopping twice. Thought I was harbouring a cold or something, but today proved that I wasn't. Was just kaaaaak. Today, though, was bloody brilliant.
  14. Just watched Shot Caller. Excellent film.
  15. group of mates was pestering me this morning via our WA group. Glad I did it, though!
  16. it's a garmin watch mount. And yeah - I liked them, bought them for a DJ bike but the green was just so right for the Giant so I decided to put them on there instead (I may have gone through that justification as I bought them) All to find the right bar height for me, without affecting the reach too much. Funny thing is that with that raise, they'll be the same height as the low rise bars when the spacers are out. But 15mm forwards cos of the spacers being removed. Oh and thanks - I want to get something cleaner than the cable ties though. The clamp portion just feels a bit too.... I dunno. Out of place. And tape gets gunky.
  17. erm..... 150mm dropper. Climbing is fiiiine. But spacers going above until I find the right position. Just needed a tad more reach. The spacers under the bar were bringing the bar too close for my liking. This should take the bars about 15mm forwards when compared to the previous setup, but at the same height. Plus - it's green. And personally, I don't care about climbing. I'll do it, no problem. But it's not where my stoke gets filled. It's a means to an end.
  18. IT'S HERE!!! Before After Gonna put the spacers above, and slowly test to get the right height.
  19. Yeah, sorry dude - the flights & holidays got priority for me.... Already have a fenix and an apple watch in the fam.
  20. No. Cost + ((cost +10%)*14%) IE Cost * 1.154. Or Cost + 15.4%
  21. HUH? ATV just increases the VATable value, doesn't it? So it increases VAT from 14% to 15.4% cos the amount that VAT is calculated on is cost + 10% Your post above makes it sound like ATV is an ADDITIONAL duty, instead of just increasing the vat. Need more coffee?
