  1. Ja, dude. Zarco is DEFINITELY one to watch. But also - how were teh 2 KTM's getting some points on the board?!
  2. Bautista and Zarco also had great races. Yet again though. Rossi. Starting in 3rd row and finishing 2nd on a bike he isn't really happy with. What a champ.
  3. That's cos he's not doing all the EWS rounds. He's over in the UK working for Bilstein suspension, and is doing all the local UK Enduro races and some of the European EWS rounds as work allows. To travel to Tazzie and Rotorua would take immense funding and time off work.
  4. Sorry dude. Those things can't be easy to convert. Ghetto with a 20" BMX tube?
  5. Hate to be a downer, but that tyre looks like it's on backwards..... Awesome job on the weight cut though
  6. There ARE exceptions to this. Particularly with millennials who, like you, just want guidance. Then we can charge a consultation fee, but don't be surprised if it runs to R 2,000 per hour. We are professionals, after all, and it's bloody expensive to get here. And there can often be upwards of 5-10 hours work in a review, depending on the client. And not a lot of people can shell out 20k cash... In this case, we'd assess as per normal but effectively provide the initial admin and policy setup, but not much else except st each review. And you'd be charged for EVERY interaction. If you want them to monitor an investment, that would be an additional fee every month. Same with med aid interactions / interventions. Hourly rate, which can quickly add up. So you can see how it's actually not in your best interests to go down that route
  7. No. Life commission is a % of premiums each year, regulated by ASISA. And we aren't allowed to charge over and above what the regulated commission would be. So no consultation fee unless we don't charge commission at all. Because of this, there's sometimes a very large incentive for a broker to replace an existing policy with one from another company, as he will only receive commission on the premium increases every year. But still. Get a broker. If he or she insists on a replacement, start asking questions. In this way it's often safer to go for a tied agent as they cannot replace internally and get up front commission
  8. A broker client relationship Is often quite personal. Sharing info you wouldn't ordinarily. So it's quite important you get along or like the person you're dealing with. As an independent myself, I would always favour going independent purely for the higher potential of an unbiased viewpoint, but being tied to a single company or being independent doesn't in itself mean the broker is good or bad. Some VERY good brokers are tied agents. Some tied agents are atrocious. Same for independent. . But yes. I'd always say you need to get a broker. Even if you DIY there are things you may not have considered that are pertinent to you and as such you're not actually covered for something where you need to be, or you have too much.
  9. Spank Spike Race. Available from anyone who deals with Spank / International Trade. Or CRC. Pick your poison
  10. Yeah no worries man. The Racing Ralphs are okay, but IMO only for those who REALLY want to lose grammage and don't care about longevity and grip.
  11. HAHAHAHAHA! That guy ahead of you is the ghost-driver on your fastest lap projection. Always there, teasing at what once was...
  12. What, on Hoogies? naaaah bra, there are far worse than that. Apart from the flies... those flies... GAH!
  13. what about just 3rd party / fire / theft insurance?
  14. I dunno, eh. It'd have to be an absolute teef. Maybe mofo hill on table mountain?
  15. No. F: Rocket Ron 2.25 Snakeskin or Spaz Ground Control 2.3 control casing Or Onza Canis 2.25 OR Maxxis Aggressor 2.4 EXO R: Rocket Ron 2.25 Snakeskin or Spaz Ground Control 2.3 GRID casing or Onza Canis 2.25 FRC casing OR Maxxis Aggressor / Ikon 2.4 EXO IMO the Racing Ralph should only be used in race situations on an XCO course with no rock and smooth manicured trails. WC trails are NOT that. Also - you don't want racing ralphs in winter in the cape. Or anywhere, for that matter.
  16. I can't wheelie for ***! LOL. But seriously, it was a fine line. Bike was juuuuuust under the balance point on some places.
  17. New Jekyll & Trigger. These words make me happy... The Jekyll boasts a slightly above enduro-standard 165mm of travel, which drops to 130mm in Hustle Mode. Cannondale haven't gone to the extremes of geometry land, but the boat has been pushed a fair way out into the ocean. A 65º head angle with the 170mm travel fork, 420mm chainstays and a reach range of 425 - 494mm over four sizes. All Jekyll frames are designed to be used with a short 35mm stem. The Trigger is very close in terms of geometry compared to its bigger brother, in fact, only a degree here and there separates them. Rear wheel travel begins at 145mm and drops to around 115mm when you get your Hustle on. The head angle sits at 66º, the seat angle is slightly slacker than the Jekyll and 74.5 and the reach figures 10mm shorter. The Trigger is designed to be used with a slightly longer 45mm stem. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/cannondale-launches-new-jekyll-and-trigger-first-ride.html

  19. Hahahaha! I remember you and Eddy Gordo telling me the same thing. He was also looking at it IIRC.
