  1. Bugger - there's that justification again!!!
  2. I've just done some investigation, and determined that a combo of the following would be just R 50 more than the combo I posted above Impact Driver 1x3Ah battery Charger Makita combination palm router (Plunge, tilt & trimmer bases) Arguably a better combo given I already have a table saw that I can use...
  3. If i had the moolah... But right now I don't.
  4. LOL. Thing is it's tax season... and my return is in. And my old phone AND iPad are in the shop to get checked out for water damage. Got the call for the phone already, saying it's dead... waiting to hear on the ipad.
  5. Oh goodness... R3k cheaper than the tools would be by themselves. R 7,999 as a kit. No, you don't need it. You DO NOT NEED IT.... http://www.makitatoolsonline.co.za/image/cache/data/DLX2085M-500x500.jpg
  6. Ish! Richie got a bit personal with something on the trail! What a rude encounter... https://www.instagram.com/p/BIbgnRjBR8U
  7. yeah, I was looking at the LXT jigsaw. MEGA bucks! But I've used a couple of the makita devices before. Bloody brilliant things, they are. Love the common battery and the fact you can get them separately.
  8. Yeah, it's the impact driver. I already have a Bosch 10.8v professional hammer drill / driver, but it's only rated to something like 15 or 20Nm. Lovely little tool, though. Looking for something with a bit more oomph though, and not the brushless motor. This thing has a rating of 160Nm. Though how it can get any smaller in the brushless guse, I dunno. Brushless motor unit is also double the price, which puts it out of my price range. Actually, lemme rephrase. Means I can't look at getting a new jigsaw and the impact driver together...
  9. Then there shouldn't be any in the fork...
  10. In that case I'd definitely take it in to get serviced. Even though it's brand new, as Cap pointed out, it probably needs one. If you're running 30% sag, it should be buttery smooth in the fast stuff.
  11. get it checked out anyway - oil level may not be to spec. If it's harsh, but your pressures & sage are correct, chances are that's what the problem is. Give Droo a call at Stoke and chat to him about it. It shouldn't be harsh. Also - may just need to settle in a bit. But best get it checked out by someone who knows a thing or six. 084 584 5959 Opens at 10 on Fridays, according to the info online.
  12. when was the last time you serviced it?I found mine had to have a service as the oil in the lowers had run out (only 5ml in there) which caused it to lose all small bump sensitivity. One service and an oil change, and problem gone.
  13. Thousands of women in the CT area just rejoiced... But agreed fully. Just priced one of these bad boys... I wants it. Forgot just how SMALL they are!! Also decided to see if the Ryobi saw blade fixes the issues with my table saw. If so, no need for a circular. Then I just need a jig and a palm / laminate router (instead of using the big boy router) and a belt sander and a sheet sander and and and http://www.aussiebatt.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/makita-18v-li-ion-bl-1830-drill-battery.jpg
  14. LOL http://es.pinkbike.org/245/sprt/i/pb-small.png 60mm stem and a medium frame for a 5'11" rider, what is this, 2014?
  15. If you remember, I did say that there's a 740mm lower limit in my personal acceptability ratings, and a 60mm stem is within my 70mm limit. No crisis here, though it is on the far edge of what I'd personally recommend. Renthal take care of Richie's cockpit, and his choice of parts seem to shun current fashion. At 5'11" he uses a medium sized frame with a 60mm stem, along with his mechanic Shaun Hughes, they have been testing out large frames but always settle on the medium. Bars are seemingly narrow but Shaun said: "If you look at Richie's hands you will see he has massive scabs on his fingers, he seems to hit trees a lot even with the 740mm. It's another safety thing, narrower bars will work with all different tracks around the world, he's used to them now and doesn't seem to be struggling with them."
