  1. Was about to ask where you got it, so I could get some myself...
  2. TBH if I had the cash I'd probably buy one JUST so that I can session Jonkers & Steilte multiple times in a day.
  3. I can honestly see the appeal for these sorts of bikes. Capable, well balanced machines that just ehlp you get to the top that much more refreshed. For days that you want to concentrate on shuttling (without the need for a vehicle) and therefore get to the top with minimal exertion, and work on your descending skills, I reckon it's an absolutely BRILLIANT bike. For whole day rides XC style / with mates / up AND down, as well as training? Normal bike please. I want to get fitter so that I can descend better, plus it's lekker exercise. Those with mobility issues? Bloody awesome. Will they change the face of MTB? I doubt it. You still have to pedal, and on the technical bits it's still mostly down to rider skill - which an e-mtb won't change. You also won't see them "tearing up the trails" like motos, as the speed limit is 25kph and if the kick-in is moderated properly there won't be as much loss of traction. We all lose traction on the climbs anyway, and this is a mid-fat bike as well...More traction. Less rippage. But would I buy one? If I had the spare cash and nothing else to spend it on... Sure. But I'd use it for shuttling Jonkers multiple times (that CLIMB!!!) and so on, so that I could concentrate on my skills development without worry of being blown from the ride up. Would it be my primary ride? Probably not. but I want a bakkie first.
  4. To be fair, that's what any mass participation thing with ANY singletrack looks like without e bikes. So there wouldn't be much change. As for the technical singletracks? Fat unfit non skilled riders still won't do those, as they don't want to. Even the fit non skilled riders don't want to do them. I doubt e-bikes will change that.
  5. Also a difference between locking the back brake and dragging it to control speed through the corner. It's the former that needs to be kept under control and minimized.
  6. Multisport or single use? If multi - the Fenix or 930 get my vote. If single - then one of the Edge units. I'm a Garmin fan, always have been. I think (personally) they give much more complete units, and Garmin Connect is a lekker tool.
  7. IMO the raised legs give it a bit more appeal. MDF is a great choice for the under-board, but yeah it'd definitely weigh a bit!! And I hear you re the sticking together. Started a project from some white oak offcuts and it just stopped halfway cos getting them to stay straight was a nightmare. Need a table like that in my life. Could also do it with lats of ply so that the end-grain is showing. but I like the way you've done the table. Very nice indeed!
  8. The piece of wood that the "butcher block" section sits on - single piece of pine / meranti / other?
  9. Everything except yellow, blue & white are out of stock
  10. He can, but bear in mind that ANY claim from the RAF for an accident in which there were medical claims covered by a medical aid, the med aid has rights to ANY proceeds from the claim. It's written into the Medical Schemes Act.
  11. Ja, but WHICH 2.4... A 2.4 is not a 2.4 is not a 2.4... Just ask Schwalbe & Continental...
  12. Finished Banshee over the weekend (all 4 seasons in 5 days) and MAN OH MAN, what a SERIES!!! Bloody good acting, EXCELLENT character development and it kept me interested to the end. Thoroughly enjoyed that, and very sad that it finished. But I must say it was wrapped up brilliantly as well. I think it's the series upon which all others will be judged.
  13. same process. But the HealthyCare discounts aren't a strict cash back. they come to you in the form of Dischem or Clicks vouchers, and for the Clicks one you need a clubcard. HealthyGear is a straight 10/15/25% back in cash at the end of the month following the one in which you bought the stuff. 25% if you've done your fitness assessment and online stuff. 10% otherwise.
