  1. Yeah, same. X Fusion hitting the big strides lately. More competition. Love it!
  2. Woudl only affect the HA if you're running 650b front & 26 rear... Come now, Ryan. You're slipping!
  3. Maybe at max compression the bottom of the cross brace is slightly higher than the bottom of the crown - if the lowers are 650b compatible out the box, that would make sense... So in order to make it 650b compatible, they insert / remove / magically enhance a spacer so that either the travel reduces (thereby removing the possibility of the tyre touching the crown) or there is more stanchion exposed at min compression... I dunno. I could be completely wrong, but I don't think so.
  4. Maybe: Lowers are 650b compatible out the box. 26" mode - X mm of stanchion exposed 650 mode - X + 20mm of stanchion exposed Travel remains constant. Fork just gets a higher A2C measurement due to the removal / insertion of a spacer at the end of one of the cartridges / springs... (edit: Changed 15mm to 20mm)
  5. I think the lowers themselves are 650b compatible. No way an internal spacer would change that measurement. It must be to do with the stanchions, and how much of them are exposed under no load in a given setting (26/650) so that in 650 guise at max compression there is more stanchion exposed and therefore the top of the tire no longer connects with the crown. I think that's what he means, at least...
  6. okay so the clearance on the cross-brace isn't the issue then. Makes sense.
  7. Oh - the superstar also have reinforced eyelets... For, like, Ski Lifts and stuff...
  8. Nige - Flow ex is 490g per rim, Superstar AMX is 580g per rim... so max saving of 180g. Not a lot at all...
  9. This just arrived on mine... http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/cane-creek-angleset-adjustable-headset2.jpg
  10. House of cards is brilliant so far. Tomorrow people started off promising but is getting a bit... strange. Pillars of the earth is pretty cool Still watching mentalist HOMELAND
  11. I know. He was a bean-pole at school as well.
  12. That would be a lowball figure for sure. Jonkershoek here in CT has an annual fee of R 225 per rider, whereas Tokai (being SANParks vs Cape Pine) is R 360 or so. So that's what you have to aim for. Tafelberg is more expensive than that, even. Don't go above R 400 per year. In terms of access control, the board system works very well - no board, no ride. But keep spares for day trippers so that they can get access as well without being accosted as "freeloaders" In terms of the trail map - that's something we're wondering in Tokai: whether to do downloadable GPS maps etc. But at the end of the day, you'll always be looking at the screen wondering which way to go. The A4 foldable map solution would be far better imo. Something that you can whip out and get your bearings instantly. GPS co-ordinates would be good at all the trailheads though, so people can get in and mark their spots. But at the end of the day, GPS co-ordinates are most useful to your Emergency Services okes, who WILL need to know where they're going. The trail map needs to be concise and clear. Legends and not too many colours... But yeah - A4 map would be great. From an insurance point of view - you WILL need some sort of insurance for the trails if you're thinking of building there for the general public to ride. Contact Meurant Botha (Dirtopia) or Bennet Nel (Ace of Spades) or Hylton Turvey. Also Pain or Shine. They would know what sort of thing you need to adhere to and put into place. Affiliation with AMARider may be in order, so that you can (through them) conform to IMBA standards, which is generally a pre-requisite when it comes to getting some sort of public liability cover. Then the trails need to be rationalized and graded etc etc. It's a long drawn out process, but it needs to happen if it's open to the public. Good luck dude, and lemme know where they are! Wanna ride them!
  13. reduce the git on the bike and you're down to 14kg
  14. Savage giving it stick in the foreground there. The FOCUS!!!
  15. Sandpaper. Until it resembles brushed steel...
  16. LOL. Slow, you know me. You know that was said entirely in jest... (editing post)
  17. Stratus, which one is it? Did PPA contact you, or did a fellow team manager contact you? You seem to be retreating VERY fast on this matter. Either PPA contacted you, or you were threatened with a potential complaint from a fellow team. If the latter, why should we believe your initial post? If there's dishonesty there, then why not elsewhere?
  18. Uni, you can **** right off now, thanks... damn. That's just not right. Make a guy feel old and grey like that...
  19. Morph - every pic you're posting, I'm building a list in my head. Wanna go there. Wanna go there. Wanna go there...
