  1. 150mm and from a special place. Not online or anything, just a good deal
  2. Damn, that's a good price! Now if only they'd spec RS instead of this fox CTD crap.
  3. Stumpjumper is more aggressive than the Trance. More of a trail bike than a do-it-all. New trance has a 67 deg head angle vs 69 for the stumpy. Stumpy is only JUST shorter ito wheelbase, but only by 7mm. Trance has a more relaxed seat tube, as well as 10mm shorter chainstays. So the trance will be more stable, but more playful and easier to lift at the front. Trance also has more travel, but only just...
  4. ME! In my pink pisspot and on the Reign X. May even ride in again. Thank goodness I don't have the GT anymore. That was a killer!
  5. ROFL. I don't like it at the moment. But I do like beating my own times up... means I get fitter, which means I have more fun on the way down...
  6. No real difference in weight, but then Giant don't disclose the full weights of the bikes. Anthem - 29er. Trance - 650. The relaxed HA and longer travel of the Trance will render the bigger wheels useless when it comes to rolling over stuff.
  7. I'd take the Trance, purely from a versatility standpoint. Yes, the Anthem can do a fair load more than the average XC only MTB, but the Trance just has the edge both in comfort and ability when the stuff gets rough. There are LOADS of people riding trances on multi-day events, and I'd even go so far to say that they're more comfortable in every application than the Anthem riders. It's both a more capable bike, and a stronger one (built to handle more punishment) The only time I'd recommend an Anthem over a Trance is if you're a full on XC racer, and do nothing else.
  8. That would be All Mountain riding. As in, riding ALL of the mountain, but more of a focus on the downhills. We ride up because it takes us to the top of the trail, not because we like it...
  9. Yeah. It's not as if they couldn't se what was happening. The only car to stop was that red one...
  10. didn't ave a chance to, cellar. Driver was probably knocked to the other side of the cab when it went onto its side, and then couldn't get to the brakes. Not often that you see the okes wearing their belts.
  11. It's Parks who are going to have to spend to restabilize there. And they have to do it on that side as well as up to the tar road, as that's the only way Telkom can get up to their radio mast... and on the Bridal path side, that's the contour path... Needs hectic stabilization.
  12. You'd get more by selling them separate, given that it's not a "complete" gruppo (SLX Shifters & FD) PM inbound...
  13. Thought the Truvativ crank would be "better" for the 1x10 conversion 'cos the chainline on the middle ring is already spot on. No need to mess with spacers etc.
  14. why not just keep the SLX shifter? And you can also run the XT as 1x10. No need to use that other crank you have, unless you're selling the Xt due to budgetary issues. If so, you can then go all out with the Truvativ crank and maybe even polish it?
  15. Boomslang was great fun, but a bit like a mudbath! Mamba has held up really really well. Hope there's now loads of sun to bake the dirt in.
  16. Yeah. Best practice dictates that you should. Plus, I don't really wanna find out that the seal isn't perfect half way down the mountain!
  17. The olive is a critical portion of the seal. Any time you're replacing hoses or calipers you need to change the olives, as they mould themselves to the shape of the calipers internal structure and may not conform to the new caliper / lever / hose and therefore form an incomplete seal. From there you'll have an air ingress zone as well as a potential leak spot for the fluid. So yes - they are a one use item.
  18. I'd be up there in a heartbeat if there wasn't a good chance I'd do something stupid and wreck my knee again!
  19. Did you actually even read what I said? Clearly not. You're castigating everyone who does not agree with you, and congratulating everyone who does. You're also trying to get popular support for an idea that is in essence illegal. Nowhere near like voting - voting against the ruling party is not illegal. Riding against the traffic is. Your analogy is flawed.
  20. But then again it's Friday Fight club, and I'm in for a moering session...
