  1. Muhuhahahahahahaa!!! It was old stock the RS guys are getting rid of. Last one. Muhuhahahahaha!
  2. That's why I like dealing in person. Sold my fork to a hubber that's been here for 3 years but hasn't posted. Met, paid and exchanged. Took 5 minutes. Previously sold my XX brakes to a guy in PTA. He paid, I sent the next monday (all the time sending updates and then a tracking number cos my lightie was sick at the time) Then before that sold my road bike to a guy in Durbanville. He wanted it, i took it to him to test ride, he couldn't take it then so he deposited money later that week and I dropped it off with him. It's not hard to keep a handle on things, sellers. How would you like to be treated?
  3. ROFL. You're gonna be there for a lot longer than you're used to then. Code for - I would have been bucked, trampled and gored...
  4. Dude. The Sukuma bucked you 'cos it couldn't handle being mounted by a sub par rider, that's the real reason! hatcoatdoor...
  5. Just the loving long time that I missed out on...
  6. You don't think that MAY be down to the rider? Hmmmmm?
  7. Okay - solution found. The pricing on the forks were a bit steep: X Fusion Vengeance (air) R 7,300 X Fusion Vengeance (coil) R 7,000 Suntour Durolux (air) R 5,000 I managed to get hold of an old stock new Lyrik 2 step, on which the guys at RS are going to do a swapperoo and change out the 2-step cartridge (which is a dog by many peoples' reckoning) with a brand new RC2DH cartridge for just R 800 more than what I'd have paid for the short-steerer Lyrik. Given that it's a brand new fork (will carry the 3 year factory warranty) and it's the fork I wanted, it's not a bad end to the story. To have re-steerered the Lyrik would have cost about R 500, so I would have saved R 300 but had a 2nd hand fork which has had its steerer replaced. In the end, I think this has been a valuable lesson to not only me (I'm still a dumbass) but to others out there. I've learnt that you better bloody well measure that frikkin steerer, and ASK what length it is before selling the fork you have on there to begin with I've learnt that you can lengthen a steerer by welding an extension on to it I've learnt that you can replace the steerer on a fork by getting an engineering shop to press-fit a replacement into the crown, I've learnt that I'm a dumbass... SO. Collecting the fork on Friday, ready for the weekend...
  8. Suppose that's true of the 96% that, according to one of the large shock manufacturers, "don't know what they're doing" If you're the "4%" then great. If you like Solo Air 'cos it does everything for you (pffft) then great. But if you know what the LSC / HSC / LSR / HSR adjustments DO, and WHY they do them, then the Zocchi is awesome.
  9. Oh heck. Don't get me started on that. Would build up so much anger I'd be AWing all day. And ASing all night!
  10. And how do we know that HE was at fault? That's the point. Until such time as the evidence is submitted to the court, and the prosecution has had their say, along with the defence, we CANNOT know whether he was at fault or not. Yes, he hit Burry. Was he guilty of murder? Maybe. Manslaughter? Maybe. Until then, wait for the evidence to present itself. One cannot be convicted on possibilities, and to call for such is really going down the wrong path.
  11. Precisely. got everything to do with what can be proven, and what actually happened. Yes, Burry's death is and was tragic. Yes, it's horrible. But in this case, was the taxi driver in the wrong? Remains to be proven. If it cannot be proven (witness testimony aside, and no witness will be reliable now, given all the media exposure) then it cannot be proven. Taxi driver is not automatically in the wrong.
  12. Sweet. I'm waiting on pricing for the other forks. Will hear tomorrow, and see what the options are.
  13. That may be an option... Will def look at it! Waiting on prices from other avenues at the moment...
  14. My existing stem is a 35mm jobbie. Plus I don't really wanna pay for another stem when the existing one is doing a good job, and the problem may be rectified by other means...
  15. it (was) at the maximum travel limit at 150mm. Doesn't matter now, it's sold and I'm not going to be that guy that says "sorry bud, made a mistake you can't have the fork now"
  16. Hey Minty, that may be a plan. Will see what tomorrows investigations bring.
  17. Yeah, I may have to go Coil. Only thing is they're fark heavy. And I'd like AIR if possible. Still, in a pinch...
  18. Yeah. Waiting on word on a price of those, as well as some x fusion vengeance forks.
