  1. You forget them on the top? Really, no excuse for that other than stupidity. As for solutions, you're only going to be able to do a couple of things. 1: Fabricate a bespoke trailer to fit 5 bikes (simple ladder frame with an a-frame head and an old axle will work) 2: Roof Rack 3: Chuck them in the back and make the mates squish up (not only illegal, but darn stupid too) 4: chuck the bikes int he back and make them drive themselves there. Of the 4, I'd go for option 4. Tell them that they're welcome to chuck their bikes in the back, but they must get their own cheap asses to the trail head. That way, it's you and one other, plus the 4 / 5 / 6 bikes, and then 2 / 3 / 4 in the other car. Far safer, far cheaper, far more responsible and FAR more practical.
  2. The cabling could be part of the problem, but then so could the derailleur setting at the back. I don't know enough but to tell you to fiddle and fiddle and fiddle with the settings until it comes right. I know what to do, but not how to explain it...
  3. ROFL. Cap, did you miss the part when he said "Hope he is doing well!" still sick? :-P
  4. Cap - saw it on another site this morning. The potential applications are endless!
  5. Why do you say so, JB? Please, for future posts, expand when you just make blanket statements like that...
  6. best route is to change cassette & chain together. Also, don't buy the most expensive chain. Just an SRAM PC950 will do nicely. Generally the first things to go...
  7. Nah, Alouette, go for Deore, or even the bargain basement HG50 or whatever it is. The difference in weight is negligible (and I mean negligible) but they're made of steel instead of aluminium. Last far longer, and they're far cheaper as well. There is NO difference in shifting performance between them. Solely weight saving / bling factor.
  8. You never know. You could need to pump up middle of the ride if something untoward happens, or you want to determine the proper pressure for that particular ride / terrain etc.
  9. Water (2l) Chain tool Quicklinks 2 tyre levers (the big ass strong ones) Tubeless plugs Tubeless patches multitool Knife Wallet Phone Shockpump Normal Pump knee pads & elbow pads strapped to the back.
  10. ROFL. So true. Having said that, I know the product, though "overpriced" (relative term, some people would rather pay for an Alienware laptop, which is FAR more pricy than a mac) is a magnificent piece of design. Still, if something goes pop, you can't just walk up to Compooters r us and buy a new GPU - It's totally bespoke. Having said that, I'd still rather trump up for my own custom built jobbie in a custom case. Far more control over bits n bobs, even though it might actually be compromised from a speed point of view (transfer & data speed, not CPU clock speed) But in terms of the Apple-philes, of which there are many, this is a magnificent device which I am sure will be gobbled up MUCH faster than teh current iteration
  11. Or you could just buy an external optical drive? Firewire compliant? USB 3.0?
  12. You will probably need to get a new set of nipples. Get some brass ones, FAR better than alu
  13. Saw this last night... EPIC! And it's the same DVD, so cost on that side won't be exhorbitant like SSD is at the moment. It's just the read / write capability that will come at a (significant?) cost!
  14. Damn dude, way to ensure that all Pain or Shine's, Rob Vogel's and Meurant Botha's efforts to get us on the "good side" of Parks are effectively kyboshed. And yes, it is a government restricted area. It's a nature reserve. And you're not allowed to ride there. An attitude of wilfully ignorant entitlement won't get you anywhere.
  15. In the same boat myself - but will try as hard as I can to scrounge a couple of dollas!
  16. Eh, man just the wheels ekse. Not like you goanna slap it full of gold my laahnie.
  17. Listen to the man. Although Black n Gold does look supreme as well
  18. Eish. Not cool. But still. As you say, ride within your boundaries and don't write cheques you know you can't cash...
  19. Don't worry dude. Some people need to read it twice for it to sink in!
  20. Cape Town, more specifically by the top of Rhodes Drive / Constantia Nek. Was it here, Deon? Or Tokai (again)
