  1. If it is like you say it is, then they are liable for the cost of a replacement fork if the agents do not or can not rectify the situation. If there is a cost involved, they need to cover that. It's due to their gross negligence that this has happened.
  2. Ah. That rack doesn't have the locks on the braces the same way the Thules do, right? Just a set of screw on clamps. Sorry for your loss, guy, but you should really have locked them on to the rack seeing as the rack itself doesn't have a locking mechanism. I reckon I'd have had those bikes off in less than a minute with those clamps. Loosen nut then spin spin spin. Each of those can be undone in about 10-15 seconds if you're quick.
  3. Welcome dude! must come to the local mtb group's christmas do on the 9th. I'll mail you details. Hairy - you gonna second the motion?
  4. That's just it - as a tester for Ibis he would have had to consider all of that anyway. So I reckon it's valid. Think of it in terms of road cycling. Stick a set of slicks on to an MTB and compare the resistance to that of an MTB with knobblies. Now change those same knobblies to Nevegals or similar. FAR more power being used to get the same time. If you expend the same amount of power as the oke on the slicks, you WILL be slower. Simple.
  5. FARK! 30 Minutes! And it's safe to say that his fitness over the period stayed static, 'cos as a bike tester you have to be fit!
  6. some kids are just big for their ages, which is why some have outgrown bikes and others haven't. That aside, though, get the bike with the best frame spec you can. Rigid preferably, as the forks at that level suuuuuuuuuck and will just weigh the bike down. Wheels don't matter at this point. In terms of parts though, may I suggest a different approach. Get a decentish bike, but with v brakes. Then source a good set of v brakes from somewhere, and put those on instead. Those can move across to the different bikes as she grows, and will be leaps and bounds better than the brakes that come standard on kiddies bikes.
  7. Wahahaa!! Dude, trust me - I was stuffed by the time I got back to Virgin!
  8. That mad oke was me! Cycled in from Wynberg. All 25kg of bike. With Super Tacky tires. Damn, was I stuffed! Will be there this year again...
  9. Yeah, I saw that. My opinion (not based n fact just yet) is that the Green becomes active as soon as you have passed the previous marker. IE: If you can see Yellow then Green, Yellow prevails as it is in the foreground. As soon as you PASS the yellow, the next active flag takes precedence. Think of waved yellows in crashes. The flags are waved up to and at the site of the crash, but as soon as the crash is cleared the greens are shown and if there aren't any yellows before the green, you're fine to go. The opposite is true of the safety car though, as that take into account a definitive line that you HAVE to cross before overtaking, due to the fact that the Safety Car is deemed to have been in place for the entire lap, not just a section of the track. That's my take, at least.
  10. Yeah, just didn't want to bring their rather chequered history into it. Meh. I'm still a Ferrari fan at heart, but I don't smaak any of their drivers. And I think Massa was trying to do it all race, dude. At least, without it seeming intentional. He failed at that side though. Chopping and changing faster than an Indian rug merchant.
  11. Here's the video. Shows he overtook on a green. Yes, he passed a yellow, but immediately after the yellow a Green was shown, signaling the all clear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeNvmPcNlwI
  12. When I heard that I was appalled. If I were Alonso, I wouldn't want to win under that cloud... Sounds to me like sneaky underhanded dealings, most typical of McLaren...
  13. Ask Omega about his hopes. Onlu set of brakes in his crew that didn't need to be bled over the 2 weeks on France's best dh tracks.
  14. But you don't like it OR use it!? Okay - new deal. Boobars, Alex DX32 & Mavic DX320 rims.
  15. AWESOME little vid! Can't believe the skill level of these laaities! https://www.facebook...v=2019331329180 or
  16. Indeed. My Hardteilenstein has the same HA as my (soon to be new) AM bike. Until I get the right fork, that is. It's still a helluva fun bike to ride. And it improves my skill every time I ride it. And fall.
  17. I aim to please, sir. I aim to please. I tend to come up with good taglines every now and again, but I have to say - that one was a pearler.
  18. Yes, my Hardteilenstein. In fact, that's its new name! Thanks Crow! 750mm bar, 30mm stem, 1x9, 150mm revelation teamed 2.5 super tackied piece of hardtail befokkedness. Just needs a dropper!
