  1. Rofl... You clearly didn't get the sarcasm in that post! But yeah, tjops are everywhere. Not confined to roadie-dom or anything.
  2. Dude, so with you on that one. Plus, you'd need to stay for 3 weeks to get over the jet lag and get the same amount of actual riding time in, so that makes it even more expensive! Not to mention that you're absolutely STUFFED when you get back from that Canadian connection. Damn.
  3. Yeah, and at twice the cost both in terms of ticket and jet lag, it's not really... Still, If I had the opportunity to go, I'd go.
  4. Awe. Some. Ness ness ness... Damn! That's some good prices!
  5. May be the way? you know it's the way, patches!
  6. Yeah. Sad, but necessary. At least those trees get replaced though, which means it doesnt turn into a dustbowl.
  7. That is one stunning example of how a Cobra should be built. Yes, I would change the finish more for practicality purposes than anything else (evening sun straight into the eyes comes to mind!) but the attention to detail, down to the Peske coil overs and pushrod suspension, as well as the tan leather interior and spartan dash. Mmmmmmhmmmm! Yes please!
  8. impact on the geo - quite a bit. As for why you would want to - in order to give the front the properties of a niner wheel (easier to navigate obstacles & the way that it handles square edges) whilst still having Long Travel ability at the back. It helps if it looks good, which in this case it didn't.
  9. Just like SKY was supposed to be different, just like Slipstream was supposed to be different? Come on dude.
  10. NIce bike, mate. Really like the look of those Megas.
  11. ROFL. Shot, Nishiki... a lot of sweat (and rain) went into those trails. And there's still a lot more work to be done. And lemme guess - some of the DH trails and then My Roots & Mamba? Yeah. That's primarily where the work has been done. And now that you see what we're actually doing - you coming along on the 3rd? :-)
  12. Meh. I'm the last one who should be worried about weight! Still a good price for a fully XT kitted bike with a Tapered REBA up front...
  13. No problem with height on a niner, dude. Guys who are 5ft6 ride niners professionally, and they don't have any issues so no reason why you should. Regarding the choice - it comes down to what type of riding you do, and what level of comfort you want. If you're looking at doing highly technical stuff, then the DS 6er with a bit more travel will be your go-to option. If, however, you're just going to be tootling along district roads, then the niner may be the best for you. I would not suggest a niner HT for All Mountain type riding, just like I would not suggest a 140mm travel DS for someone who's going to be racing XCO. At the end of the day - buy what feels good for you and matches your riding style. Not what the LBS says looks Kief etc.
  14. That's a helluva good price for a well kitted bike...
  15. Rofl.. 6'1" 105kg. Can easily hold my own. I'm just 10kg over my goal, so not that "fat" just big framed. And that is so what I'm gonna do when I move to a bakkie, which is gonna be my next ride. Doesn't really go well with an A4, does the "enforcer" route.
  16. I see it daily. The guy who pulls left onto the onramp in bumper to bumper to get 5 cars in front. The guy yellow-laning it inbetween onramps (I deliberately block these okes) and the guy turning in a no-turn lane because that lane isn't 10 deep at the intersection. Then the guys who HAVE to creep across the intersection even though they can see that they will sit in the middle and block the intersection. Makes me mal.
  17. Phone the importers. AFAIK it's Dragon Sports. Contact us at 021 461 6252 Email: paula@dragons.co.za
  18. Ultimate confidence in lattice structures! I wonder if they issue him with a parachute, just in case something goes wrong?
  19. yes, they do. There are a few good eggs in there, but I've found to have much more luck when going there in person... Not really geared towards the phone in / e-commerce side of things. Sad, really, 'cos they carry a good selection of stock.
  20. Nice. Those GT's are good bikes, from what I've read & heard.
