  1. In terms of drug use (banned substances) you have to ensure that you do not dope at any point during your career, whether you compete or not. Doesn't matter that it was out of racing periods, he doped. Therefore he must face the consequences. My wife (provincial squash player) is bound by the same rules & regs. She can be pulled for a test at any point, regardless of whether she is competing or not. She must comply with strict anti doping regs, so much so that she can't even take the majority of over-the-counter flu meds or anything. Not even medi-nite is allowed (pseudo ephederine)
  2. BULLSH1T. Hardtails are hardtails, duallies are duallies. Totally different bikes. There's no way an additional 3" on wheel / tire diameter can equate to the same thing as rear suspension. Yes, it rides over bumps and things easier, but it still has NO SUSPENSION. In fact, in terms of bump compliance it goes like this, in ascending order: 26" hardtail (low volume tires) 29" hardtail (low volume tires) 26" hardtail (high volume tires) 29" hardtail (high volume tires) 26" short travel duallie (low volume) 29" short travel duallie (low volume) 26" STD (hi vol) 29" STD (hi vol) and so on in ascension through the lengths of travel. 29" hardtail is NOT comparable to a duallie, in any way, shape or form.
  3. Okay - to your questions! Yes, you can use your existing crank. Just remove the rings you don't want, and hey presto! Can even put a bash guard in there in place of the big ring. Regarding your back wheel, you need do nothing! There are SS conversion kits available, which basically have one sprocket and a whole bunch of spacers so that you can get the chain-line JUST right. You will probably need to get a chain tensioner to fit in the dropout, as a normal bike doesn't have the adjustable dropouts (horizontal dropouts) that let you adjust chain tension by moving the wheel further out. You won't regret it! You don't need to throw away anything, and the old mantra "nothing ventured nothing gained" rings very true here. If you don't like it after a couple of months (it will take tim to acclimatize, but you will get stronger as well) you can just put your old bits back on. Hey presto!
  4. ROFL. Saw so many of those tossers in my time over there.
  5. Pfft! The Captain of Mayhem does not a runner's body have.
  6. Perfect! Just say to her "love, your happiness is important to me. Because you can't do it, I won't do it either. I'll give it away to someone who really really really wants it"
  7. So - I had a brainfart. Missed the closing date for entries. Now the question is - who has an entry for me!? Applied for several charity positions, but they were all full, and the only perceivable way is to get a sub... Who is injured / getting married / divorced / babies etc and can't do it anymore?! Please? Regards - Dumb4ss procrastinator.
  8. Quote - ‘I would like to apologise to my sponsors, who have given me every opportunity to chase a dream, and team mates, for whom I have the utmost respect. I will endeavour to make right where humanly possible,’ Bullsh1t. If he had the utmost respect for his competitors, then he wouldn't have taken anything.
  9. ROFL. I suppose you're right, I hold a grudge against the guy that seemed to look down on everyone else and have an air of "untouchability" but you're right - pre-conceived ideas. But what I will say is that Raikkonen sure looks promising - far more promising than Schumi did, and for me to say that.... Anyway. I support Vettel because he is a fantastic driver, and seems very down to earth. Yes, he is a joker - but then so is Rossi on the MotoGP circuit. His car hasn't been the best this year, in total contrast to last when he & Webber were streets ahead of everyone else. But he has still managed to put in consistent results, race after race. A lot of that is down to the team that he has, yes. But look at Webber's performance as a counterpoint. Same car, different strategies, different drivers and different levels of skill. Vettel, together with a brilliant team and a fantastic drive, came back TWICE from last position to clinch 3rd. Webber, on the other hand, looked clumsy and seemed as if he was taking driving instructions from Montoya. Yes, his exit from this last race wasn't his fault - sheer bad luck that he clipped the rear wheel there, in an unavoidable situation. But Vettel has consistently out-performed him.
  10. ROFL. On that side, not a chance. Any PED taking (much like cocaine and such) will render a policy null & void. It's in the t's & c's. Put EPO or cocaine / heroine etc into a life application, put the "last symptoms" date to 2012/11/01 and see if they'll grant you cover. Then go find a corner and cry yourself to sleep. ITO policies, it will have been a material non disclosure that has a direct effect on the risk associated with the life assured. In that case, they would re-underwrite the policy based on current practices, and if he were currently taking EPO, or proven to take EPO, then they would re-underwrite on that basis. VERY VERY stoopid thing to do from a life cover / Disability / Severe Illness perspective. Wilfully seeking a denial of cover, in other words.
  11. Really? How do you know? But yeah - Alonso may be moody, but he's not a c0ck about it. Raikkonen gets on with the game at hand, and is a bit insular (apparently until you get a drink into him) but Hamilton just seems to be "Uber-driver" and when something goes wrong, it's never his fault.
  12. Rosberg is a legend. But dude, there's arrogance, and then there's being a c0ck. Lewis is the latter. Almost as if he's taken the title of "first black man to..." and taken that to the bank.
  13. Not in the current environment, dude. Would be a very bad business decision from Nedbank to continue when there is a confirmed positive test, even if just from one sample.
  14. He's orders of magnitude less arrogant and prickish than that hack Hamilton. Never have i seen a driver that believes he has it all, or deserves it all, more than LH. Has a chip bigger than frikkin gibraltar. And i have to ask... Could he have done the same as Raikonnen in the lotus, or Vettel in the RB?
  15. Lol, cervelo, you're clearly single. Tinned fish & tommy sauce for dinner! Rofl!
  16. ROFL! I was born in the 80's, and my favourite colour was red. So of course I supported Ferrari when Schumi was there! But before that, I was a Gerhard Berger fan. And before that - Ayrton. I've been a fan of Vettel's for a while now - approx 4 / 5 years, maybe? He just seems like a lekker oke, and is a truly superb driver. I despise Hamilton...
  17. The prancing horse deserves nothing. As a Ferrari (well, ex-ferrari) fan, they have been far too disappointing for far too long. Plus, Alonso is a bit of a tard, even though he can drive the pants off the car. Yes, Ferrari are faster this season (FINALLY!!!) but thye have been lagging and lagging. I now support the drivers as opposed to the constructors, and I am unashamed to say that I support Vettel & Raikkonen.
  18. Yeah, but do you smash into rocks or float like a butterfly? Should be a warranty issue. But... Be aware that it may have been due to abusive riding practices.
