  1. Yeah. We walked in there, and the waitress knew EXACTLY what to give us. Her: "You look hungry" me: "thirsty too" her: "what can I get you?" me: "what do you have?" her: "how about 2 steak sandwiches?" Me: "Awesome" her: "2 amstels?" Me: "we're riding some more after this" her: "2 cokes then" me: "awesome" Her: "and a plate of chips to share? They really go well with the sarmie" me: "perfect" Only when Pittstop & I had sat down did we see the price of them. Were they worth it? HELL yes.
  2. I know what you mean... This happens to me as well, but mine lasts slightly longer 'cos my fridge is a monster and sits at 1 degree the whole time. So everything lasts so much longer... But I don't have toast that much, and when I do, I skip between bovril & fish-paste. My wife hates the stuff, but then I can't stand peanut butter and she loves that. So we get even every now and again! As for the furries - it goes straight in the bin as soon as I see it hitting puberty.
  3. Nope, that's called a willfully induced suffer-fest. I don't know why anybody would want to ride to the mast, then come back down and go up to Noordhoek peak. Craaaaazy!
  4. The BooBars on the DH sled are 780mm... They feel AWESOME. Trying to go back down to the 620mm on my XC bike... Let's just say that it's less than ideal.
  5. That was sickening. Even more sickening was watching that ********* feed her 5 month old kid a 1/4 pounder. And forcing it to eat McD's fries as well. Or that 19 year old who used to weigh over 500kg. There was another doccie about him. His mother was the over-riding problem in that situation though. Snotklap heaven...
  6. LOLz! The Northshore bridges are all covered in grass and foliage. That place needs some maintenance! Pittstop & I were having a look while we were walking back up after each run. There is LOADS of stuff that's been covered by growth, and it would be far better after a concerted weekend of clearage. Having said that - the track we did (and possibly you did) was the 4x (four cross) track - not the pump track. If you remember, the Pump Track vid shows a 15m x 25m section of flat terrain with just whoops and tabletops & berms. Not anything like the sloped 4x track that we rode... I could not find the Pump Track that was shown in the vid. But I have to say - my confidence on the DH bike was steadily climbing the longer I was riding there. Was almost clearing the 1st tabletop section after the starting ramp! Was just hitting the lip at the end, which was slowing me down quite severely. But I can envisage myself spending a lot of time down there. Just wish it wasn't so FAR! And yes - we need something like that closer to home, but at a level that's lower than the UCT jumps, for us beginners, that don't have massive gaps between kicker & landing! Oh - on a side note - the steak sandwiches at Nitida are aaaaaaaaawesome! Especially after 5 hours of riding. mmmmmmm!
  7. awesome... I'm broken today! only got home at 18h30!
  8. Having Knowledge of a potentially criminal event, and wilfully (or not) failing to report that event to the relevant authorities will include you as abparty to the crime, and therefore render you as equally prosecutable as the offending party. Report it. Edit: Pain or Shine put it more eloquently than I. Bottom line: you have a duty to report it...
  9. Nail, meet hammer. He's going to hit you right about now...
  10. Also The Epic Bike Shop in constantia main road. They're an awesome bunch of guys.
  11. Especially when you come back the day thereafter, eh MJ?
  12. I prefer bovril to marmite. Easier to spread... But fish paste ftw. Peck's anchovette. Always. As for a combo - bovril and proper cheese, pref gouda / cheddar. Or some Roquefort. Mmmmmmmm!
  13. Nah. Underpowered and overpriced compared to it's competitors. Looks good, yes. But I'd rather have the Atom.
  14. Good plan! A guy I know just happened to do the Argus and stop whenever somebody offered him a drink or a boerie roll. He did it in 8 hours. And we still went to watch Goldfish afterwards. Suffice to say he was toast!
  15. Do you stop along the route to soak up the vibe?
  16. I have to agree with you, Rouxtjie. There's a reason I've blocked his drivel. He's the only one on my "block" list. A worthy position, methinks.
  17. Crossmark on the back is acceptable. Don't take it anywhere near the front! Besides, the terrain in JHB is quite different to that in CT or DBN. You guys mostly have hard packed soil & dust, whereas we get muddy quite quickly, and have so many different types of terrain it's actually shocking. We therefore need tires that can handle the majority of terrain - which the Crossmark can't.
