  1. They're fine... Just a bit slow for those of us used to CWC & CRC...
  2. Yeah, I ordered my lights from Dealextreme. 2 Ultrafire 900 lumen monsters, with extra bike & helmet mounts... They're being shipped at the moment. Can't wait!
  3. Yep, but they did say that teh specials would be changing daily, so I'm not really surprized.
  4. Another 7" tablet that's supposed to take on the iPad & Galaxy 10.1". No 3G, Wi-Fi only and built by RIM to Amazon's specs. No thanks. Yes, it's a pretty looking media device. But that's all it is. I'd rather get a 32" LCD screen and hook it up to my local wireless network & use that to stream Amazon content & buy media. Same thing, and you won't be limited to watching your content on the piddly little screen. If it had 3G connectivity, as well as other features such as e-mail capability, etc, then it'd be useful as a COMPLEMENT to an iPad/Galaxy 10.1". It is in no way a competitor to them, if for no other reason than the screen is too small.
  5. That's a common misconception that is being de-bunked at the moment... We don't need high amounts of carbs to carry on exercising at our optimum - our fat stores can provide all the fuel we need! Yes, we do need a certain amount of carbohydrate, but not nearly as much as the commonly accepted dietary plans would make us believe. But - it does take the body a while to adapt to burning our fat stores, as opposed to relying on the intake of carbohydrate...
  6. That's what I'm doing at the moment. It worked for the first few days I was doing it, then concussion/flu. Feck.
  7. Bro, I know exactly where you're coming from. A pie is just so cheap & easy, and then it goes down like a Russian hooker in tourist season. Myself - I'm on a high-protein diet, and am starting up the training again after a 2 week break thanks to concussion & flu. Should see lekker results from here... I need to get down to 90kg, and then I'll be very happy...
  8. also, quickdraw - I like the monochrome pics of My Roots... really captures the trail well... dig it!
  9. fantastic pic of the Oh Mega Man (AKA Duane-ster) He got some reasonable air on that jump on Vasbyt!
  10. But seriously - Brussel - mad props to you for doing it so quickly. It seems as if we need to up our game just a little bit! Can't say that a bit of the good 'ole green monster hasn't set in, but I'm going to see how I can do this weekend. Watch this space!
  11. Absolutely right, Cap! I never said it was a bad thing - just that the 5min 30 odd has now been put into perspective... Fatboy needs to start pedalling on the bottom section!
  12. Jirrre. And how easy would it have been to just curl up and go under the bridge, negating the effect of the airsuit.. eishoee
  13. It seeeeeeems as if we have a hustler in our midst. Naughty, naughty, Mr. B!
  14. Well said. I'd go with an MTB, purely because you've already mentioned that you like the idea of doing a couple of off-road adventures as well as cruising with mates on holidays etc. A mountain bike is perfect for this. In addition, all you need to do is get a set of Continental 1.5 slicks, and your MTB is transformed into a comfortable, kilometer munching machine for use on the road. MTB's are far more versatile than road bikes...
  15. Only if it were an occasional thing, done for the heck of it. If you do it often, or at regular intervals, it becomes a hazardous pursuit and you will most probably be loaded (your premium will increase to off-set the increase in risk associated with the sport) or if you don't want to pay extra premiums, you will have an exclusion placed on the disability portion of your cover and will not have cover whilst you are doing the flights. Med Aid would cover you regardless...
  16. Damn. Now that's something I could see myself trying out!
  17. If the wheels are recovered within a certain period (I think it's 3 months or so) then the PO (if the PO fronted the cash) or the PO's insurer (if they in turn submitted a claim to their insurer) would be able to try and reclaim some of the loss that they incurred by selling the wheels. If they recovered the money they lost as a result of paying out the claimant, from the person who stole the wheels, then the wheels would be returned to the original owner. If the wheels are recovered privately, without the knowledge of the insurer or the PO, then it is generally written off as a loss. After all, who would go back to the PO and say "look. You know those wheels you paid me out for? Well, I kinda found them"
  18. a dark horse, this young Jedi master is. Not to be trifled with, he is. I'd like to see what my time is from the top of the berm. Will probably be slower than Pain or Shine, but he's been riding the same track, on the sAme bike, for the past 6 years!
  19. tuna - chat to wernervdmerwe and The Crow about the Mojo. Crow has tested and ridden them in numerous environments and swears by the Mojo. and imho, I'd want the durability of the mojo over the single purpose tranny any day.
  20. now this will be interesting! Wanna go fast! DH sled for this one for sure!
  21. bwahaha! Hahahahahahahaha!!! 5th place at an INTERNATIONAL XTerra Event (Yes, XTerra USA championships, there would be a European XTerra champs as well, but it doesn't limit "external" entrants from taking part - heck, they take part in most, if not all of the events - they all count for points!) 5th Place is a fantastic achievement. Tiny sub-discipline of an already small sport? Huh? Yes, not many memorable people take place in the events. But by no means is the XTerra series a tiny sub-discipline!
