  4. Yeah, 'cos a Mini, in my opinion, is a small 2 door motor vehicle, designed by Alec Issigonis and originally made by Morris. Another variety is the commonly known mini "clubman" which is most often seen in 1275e / GT / GTS guise. No way those are gay.

  6. MTBing is more fun. Period. This is regardless of how hard you're pushing it - whether you're hitting 95% of your HRR and kakking off a new lung, or pootling around with the fairies at 5kph. There's just so much more gratification. AND - you get muddy! With road biking you just get wet and dieselly. Not cool.
  7. just clocked another 1096kCal at the gym. Lekker. Fav foods: Pronutro (a new discovery - never liked it before) home-made chicken kebabs, seasoned with salt, pepper & chicken spice & put on the braai... stir-fry (just 5ml veg oil) seasoned with soy sauce & chilli
  8. Dude - no way is a top u-turn fork with 110 to 150mm travel going to weigh between 1.2 and 1.4kg. In fact, the Sid XX hardly comes in under 1.4 kg, and anything lighter than that will just flex like crazy. Okay, you get carbon-lower endowed shocks, but those weigh close to 1300g and are generally found with the guys who have taken out 3 extra mortgages to finance the purchase of them. And those forks are only 100mm or 120mm travel. No way close to 150mm In closing - it's cheaper because it's a coil fork, coming in under the air - sprung Revelation range. It's also 400g heavier than the equivalent Revelation. Looks like a killer fork, but I'd price the Revelation before committing...
  9. the 80 - 85% of HRR thing really works. It's not QUITE all out, but you go pretty quick anyway. This is where it helps to have an HR monitor!
  10. then do the repeats to the background tjoons of Rammstein, Slipknot, Infected Mushroom etc etc. Anything with a hard, constant beat will help you to forget the pain... and helo you to overcomme the barrier that is always there. Just remember to make the music soft, otherwise you won't be able to hear the traffic. Either that, or go to a secluded place where nobody drives and do it there... Or you can get one of BradJackson's mobile boom boxes!
  11. Agreed, Flyboy... I use an HRM to train in specific HR zones. I agree that you know when you are going hard, but at times you need to know just HOW hard you're pushing, or are wanting to do intervals etc. HRM is also useful for post-analysis and keeping a training diary.

  13. Security is an issue, granted. I picked up one of those 12mm sleeved, braided steel cables from Builders Warehouse that I lock my bikes up with. I know it's strong - had a break-in (faulty electric gate without a lift-off preventer on the one side) and the guys broke 3 wpoxied, rawl bolted securing bolts from the walls outside. Twisted the cabling so badly that it is now irrepairably kinked, but they still couldn't get the bikes away due to the cable being so strong. Also try to break through that with a chain-cutter. Not going to work! The lock is the weak point, unless it's the right lock!
  14. morning workout cut short due to late wake-up. Damn alarm! only got in 750kCal in 45 mins... Still got Tokai session this arvie though - should be a great day for exercise!
  15. I've ridden those 2 sets as well as my current WTB Wolverines. ITB are a helluva tire, and the were grippy in just about anything. And I pushed them really hard! Only reason I changed them was that I went tubeless, and they were a 1.95 I rate the WTB's as best (so far) but have yet to ride them in properly wet conditions...

I had: B/fast 50g pronutro 200ml low fat milk Snack 2 digestives lunch: woolworths egg/mayo sarmie (comes with 3 sections - only had 2 of them. one for tomorrow) dinner veg stir fry consisting of (my portion only) 2 asparagus 1/8 red pepper 1/8 green pepper 1 carrot 1/2 red onion soy sauce worcestershire sauce fish sauce R2 coin size serving of spaghetti = 60g carbs 1/2 woolworths carrot & pecan muffin. through the day - 3 litres of water Exercise today - 1 hour of cardio and some weights (short pec stack of 3 sets) totalling 1253 kCal...
  20. Now as for that, I cannot say. I'm currently running a tubeless conversion with Wolverine 2.2's on both wheels. Not a problem with any of them. However, I have been told that the Sagauros are VERY tight on converted rims.

  22. I'd put the Sagauro in front - more aggressive tire and that's where you need the majority of the grip. I have spoken to a number of shops & other people, and general consensus is that they're a marvellous tire. The Sagauro, that is.
