  1. Thanks Austin, Please keep us up to date as to what is happening with them over there. Not just the results but the story behind the results!!
  2. Really stupid to try and compare watts with a road cyclist.Cavendish has to sprint after 5hours in the saddle. Would be better to compare there figures with a track cyclist that train specifically for short hard efforts! Maybe Chuncky can give us an idea of the power output of a track rider? BMX'ers on the other side has to have amazing skill, think Robbie McEwen also raced BMX?nochain2008-08-28 04:29:53
  3. Price???
  4. What is the weight of the Mavic Crossmark tires? Looks like I should start with the tires and then move on to the Wheels. Had a look at ZTR rims with American classic hubs. Not that worried about making it as light as possible,I just want to see if I can drop about a Kg of the bike. And it looks like Wheels, tires and cluster might do more than that. Want to start taking the Mtb racing a bit more serious.
  5. Mud Dee,what do those AC hubs go for?
  6. Ok, so I will start with the tires,Handlebar, seatpost and stem. Next will be the wheels or maybe just the Hubs and Pedals? Any sugestions on what wheels to look out for? Should I stick with the rims and maybe just change the hubs? I weigh about 64kg so I don't need the to have the strongest rims.
  7. Ok,I need some help from the serious Mtb weight experts. I want to over time reduce the weight on my bike but need to know what to look out for if a special comes along. Bike Merida mission 3000D Spec. Full XT Front fork: Rock shock Reba 115m travel. Rear Shock: Manitou LRS Rims: DTSwiss X455 Hubs: XT Tires: Mavic Crossmark Stem/Handlebars/seat post: Mission X Pro. Seat: Sella Italia Pedals: Shimano M520. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Equipment need to be good enough to handle sabie experience and Drifter series type of races. Starting at the stuff I can change that will cost the least working up to the more expensive stuff and if possible what the weight gain would be. Thanks would appreciate the help because I am a bit of a rookie MTB?er!!!
  8. Bruce, What is Adam's TSB after the tour?
  9. And the Boks don't play 21 Matches in 23 day's!!!! I don't blame the guy for not having time for Joke's right now!! Wackhead should try and do 10 k's at the pace he is riding everyday and see how he feels!!!
  10. I think Bruce said somewhere that the Top Ladies in the world and our top Vet men have a very similar power profile. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Now our Top Vets would probably struggle to survive the first week never mind the mountain stages! That alone tells you it would be impossible for them to ride at that level.
  11. Can't wait to get home and watch the sprinters take on each other!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Why would that have signed the deal for you!!
  13. Did I ask if he wanted to be a Saffa??? No I only wanted to know if we at least made a effort to get him.
  14. Did we ever offer him a Passport and Lic? In other words did the SACF at least try to offer this talented guy who did most of he's racing in SA a oppertunity to become a SA rider?
  15. Why did we not offer him a Passport and SA racing Lic??
  16. Is that at FTP, or ride till you puke and blood comes from your ears? V02 max,5min peak power!!
  17. O ok!!I would have thought that Power to weight for a Tour rider would be higher than 5.33. Don't we have a lot of pro's in this country at that figure?
  18. If he's weight is 75kg he's power to weight for the TT would be 5watts per kg.Would that not be very low for a euro pro?? He's ftp would also be 5.33 watts per kg.
  19. Bruce if that norm power is the correct data then he must be less than 75kg?? Maybe more like 65kg??
  20. Looking at the last couple of stages, what would your estimate for he's ftp be?
  21. Looks like Hansen and Hincapie has almost identical FTP value's.
  22. Hincapie avg almost 60 km per hour for 11minutes and he's max was 75,as far as I know the road was pretty flat towards the end so that is very impresive!!
  23. The thing is you already have a 70km race for the riders that are not interested in a difficult route so make the 100 a real challange. The race is about 3 weeks before the jock so I think you will find a lot of guy's that come and race this as part of there preparation.
  24. Very nice race!! Wil be back next year for sure, maybe just add another 10km and take us up that climb. But it is a nice undulating route already. Also liked the venue!
