1. So you do the STINGER products Muxie? Handy to know.
2. Pleeeze...thats just a surface scratch man!! (hope your ok now dude?!)
3. Ermm...I live on Comaro?! Thats like DEEP south guys!
4. I can just imagine his old man... "Oi, Chris lad! Wots wrong wiff yu lad? Wearin them funni pants an pedalin in circles...playin wiff Frogs and all, its nee on man, yer givin us Scots a funni name!"
5. Craven has a busted collarbone? That sucks. Sorry to hear Dan. Get well dude, I'm a big fan and you need to keep up the good results. Same for the other guys hurt...hopefully Mr Wards injury is not as bad as it sounds.
6. Isn't it ironic, people will pay up to $1000 for a set of beautiful Delta's which never was good calipers and they are heavy, and for that very reason they were discontinued. Bizarre Yip...like paying R450k for a Ferrari 308GTB...which only cost R92k when it was launched...and almost certainly gonna break down on you!!
7. Ok...firstly...that Vitus is ugly! Sorry! I know its retro, but OMG! Why was that Pinarello deemed illegal for racing Tarboy?
8. I had a Team Telekom steel track Pinarello...loved that bike. I regret having parted with it! Thats a nice looking track bike Slowtwitch! I remember drooling at the SA Champs in Durban in 1990 when Anton Vermaerke rode his Pinarello 'Prologo' complete with Mavic Comete disc to victory in the pursuit...man that was a bike.
9. Ha ha! The grass is greener now Slowbee! Incidently, the Merckx now has a set of Time RXS pedals on, with a new old stock Flite saddle...the gearing is 7speed Delgado! 13/21 53/42
10. I know I posted a few pics of this a few weeks back...but I thought you guys would enjoy it?! Been riding it, and to be honest I love it. Yes, the gaps between the gearing takes some getting used to, as does the down tube shifting...but its SO cool! C'mon Delgado...we gotta hook up and ride our old school bikes soon dude!!
11. I know where to get brand new Campy brake levers! Non Ergo Power type. If interested just ask and I'll send you to the source!!
12. WayneDude...that pic from 1994 has you on what would today be considered the Alpha bike! That was one seriously cool bike dude...C Record, Shamals and Ergo Power! respect dude! LeMond would have been proud. Now those were bikes! Trubie...that old Albion kit sure brings back memories bud!!!
13. Delgado...your killing me mate. That Moser is too cool for school.
14. Well, at 34 I am old enough to appreciate the older bikes...and having said that I went for a ride yesterday on my old Eddy Merckx steel frame! I tell you, down tube shifters take some getting used to! Its amazing at how basic the old stuff is...but just how good it was at its job at the same time! I for one think the world of cutting edge Pinarello Dogma's and Trek 6.9.5.9.5.2.9.0.4.6.3's are amazing...but they came from somewhere! Hence the thread! Thanks Delgado...let us know when the first get together is!
15. I know its self defense...but using that gun is going to land you in more trouble than anything else. I have started riding on the trails at the farm, and even though its the same trails, I'd rather ride knowing its a lot safer. Thanks Wendell...
16. To be honest, I was shocked that LA had the ride that he did yesterday. I've maintained all along that he's got something big up his sleeve and there is no way he is going to wait around for Contador. Boy was I wrong! LA was in big trouble on that climb. Back to the dog...SO CUTE! We went to the Dome yesterday for the Pet Expo, and they had St Bernard Pups there! Awesome dogs!
17. Seriously Waynedude? The old Criteriums were cool...before they became yellow and blue! Got a picture?
18. Oh, Mampara...I actually have a set of original SPD Ultegra pedals! The very first set they made...but I just have to dig them out of my dusty storage box! That part aint fun!
19. Probably Velo...but they were clearly engineered to last! So you guys like her hey?!
20. You are right Velo, but the only bar I had like that was a lot more narrow and slightly scratched from being inserted into a stem! But, its funny hey...the old Shimano stuff has lasted well. The surprising thing is just how good the SLR brakes are. Back then I guess anything was an improvement on "grab and pray" that Campag had!!! Even the quick release on the calipers is great. And the hubs are still smooth...which is a surprise!
21. Its cool hey?! 56cm, steel tubing, chrome stays and fork...not a scratch! The gears are so cool...the left shifter stays slighytly raised so that you can slip your thumb around it to adjust it while shifting the other lever! That was technology back then! You have to love it! The gears were the easiest thing to set! And the click shift is SO funny and cool at the same time!
