Reviving a slightly older thread... Can anyone give me a bit more detail on fitting Thule bars on an Armadillo on a Wildtrak Ranger? Where do you start? With Armadillo agents, or with Thule agents?

I haven't done a race in such a long time! I decided I want to try do a hard run for all the common distances form 5k to 42k over the next couple of months, to see what my "PB" would be in these... Haven't done anything "fast" in years...

The road surface there depends a lot on recent rainfall... It should still be relatively dry then... Riding with cataflam especially on such a long ride is just being silly...

I'm doing a SLOW 150-160km ride on Friday...

With those kind of distances, its the best approach...... no need for technical riding if you not racing technical events....

I have the same KTM. Although I like it, its been a bit of a mission to get parts (cable grommets, hangers). According to the shop I got it from they only import complete bikes, and did not carry any parts stock. If anything is needed they need to remove it from a bike, or order the part in. I also got it for way less than the Scalpel would have cost me, but I think the Scalpel is a nicer bike (I do love the Lefty).

Anyone know if the Gravel Express at Van Gaalens will be on again this year? Thinking of doing it as training for the Waterberg...

Currently still sunny, no wind, with a bit of cloud building up from the south-west. I think tonight will see the temperature drop a bit, and I think tomorrow will be mostly cloudy. I don't think it will rain (lots). I would wear whatever kit you normally wear in Potch this time of the year. Midrand/Centurion area doesn't get that cold. Perhaps have a lightweight jacket, just in case it rains a little.
