  1. What are the language requirements for new recruits in the FFL, I imagine its a quick way to learn basic French but there must be some language issues in the beginning or do they use the universal language engleesh...

I have a mate that joined there a while back. He says it has been the worst couple of years of his life. You get mixed with the absolute dregs of society. The Frenchies also dont like you one bit.

  2. Livanto is great.

Its a 6/10 intensity, so it should appeal to most.

Interestingly, it is only the third best seller in RSA (according to the nespresso chap I spoke too)

Roma is the Top, followed by Vivalto lungo.

I think it is a good choice for flavouring.

It is mild, already has caramel notes too it.

I am interested to taste the vanilla in a milk based coffee ie cappuccino etc.

What I meant is that I rate it 8 out of 10. My fav is Indriyah. That gets a 9 from me.

  3. According to a couple of guys on the cooking channel - including gordon ramsay, its a myth that searing traps in the juices. It caramalises the sugars on the meat giving flavour, but has no effect on the juices.

Whatever it does I prefer it.

  4. A man in India carved a 360 ft road through a mountain after his wife died because medical attention could not be brought to her in time and he did not want he did not want anyone else to suffer the same fate as his wife.

In memory of his wife, Dashrath wanted to break down the hill and create a road path to make it easier for villagers to travel to the town. He took a hammer, chisel and nails and started hammering the hill, working day and night for almost 22 years.

Pitty he didn't think of that before she died...

  5. Ok, main reason for this poll is to benchmark it to a similar poll on the 4x4 community forum. They showed a non-normal distribution which they attributed to 4x4 drivers being more well-off than the rest of the population. I disputed that saying that it is more likely that people are telling pork pies.

This poll also shows that exact same non-normal distribution.

  6. A better comparison would have been disposable income. I may earn R50k/month but have R2k left and be worse off than a R30k/months who has R5k left. He's riding a Cannondale and I'm on a Silverback...

I wanted to go for that, but then the poll would be influenced by peoples own individual cicumstances. This is more about income earning ability.
