  2. Will try my best to attend...... maybe we should make some 'banners' and be seen by all....... Keep us posted.
  3. RIP Chris, and condolences to his family and friends. Skye, thanks for the update. Just hope handing himself over does not give him a 'slap' on the wrist by the judge, for 'good' behaviour.
  4. Fatcyclist... that is just so typical of you to offer one of your bikes........ thats why we all love you Andre, trust every day will make you stronger, and you will be fine to ride DC.... be postive.
  5. Andre, hope you make a speedy recovery, and are still able to do the DC.....
  6. Great photo's as usual....... now where is the one of the cat crossing ahead of the huge bunch??????
  7. Marius, was just thinking the same thing... it seems to be about 'importing' riders, and loosing the idea of the local is lekker theme...... Well Jnr is now out,(injured) so won't be going along to watch anymore
  8. Chrispy, glad to hear Hannes is on the mend..... I have quite a few cycling mags if it is any help??? My turn now... Jnr crashed today, broken collar bone in two places, badly bruised, and roasties gallore.... flying home tomorrow morning, and surgeon will operate asap. So get to see him three weeks early!!!!
  9. Not nice to hear, even though some have other ideas on this team, not a nice thing to happen to anyone. Hope you are all fine, and back on your bikes soon.
  10. Looks like the swelling has really gone down nicely. Not a pretty sight, but looks nice and tidy, and stitched well. Hannes, hope to see you out and about soon.
  11. Where are the 50+ ....... DISCRIMINATION!!!!!!!! Big H.... maybe these young hubbers think we are to old to be on the forum!!!!!!!!

  16. I must give a big thumbs up to ALL vehicles I have encountered on the road, in this year of training... (bar one sod... but he doesn't count, as too many good ones made me 'forget' him) As two ladies out training most days, during lunch times, we have only had a few 'toots... which I took as warning signs, (becareful type ones).... the taxis' have been wonderful, truck drivers even more wonderful, to the extent that we have phoned certain companies to praise the drivers, and of course 99.8 % of friendly drivers out there get our vote of confidence..... Yes we do jump certain red robo's, but only if our safety is not on the line, for the reason of trying to get going with a long line of cars is sometimes more dangerous, but not even a look of disgust from any driver, as i am sure they know we took care. (Never jump a 4 way cross robo though) Thank you Cape Town and surrounding area drivers... Skye, you did the right thing, and it is a pity they did not have the decency to come in and see you. I feel very bad if I do something wrong and would have stopped to sort out with you. Hopefully you will give a toot if you see us on the road. (Curves Ladies)
  17. LOL Ronelle, really good photo. Look forward to seeing your pics, and those of the other dude who had those huge lens and tri-pod........ Texas... nice to have had you join us again this evening.
  18. Thornman.... I was actually going to post the same story.... but you beat me to it!!!! Ronelle, stunning photos yet again.... that friendly guy (latrinus look alike) was Chris... friend of Uwe, very friendly, and says he will definately be back.... Killarney was great, nice turnout, considering the foul weather and gusting wind, but we have really been so lucky to have been able to ride every week.... how it rained after Killarney... Marius..... always nice to see you, and I will remember muffins this week Bionic man.... I HAD Coffee in my car... you just never asked the right person!!!!! There are PLENTY more waffels to hand out.... thanks I-Cycling x x x

  20. Chappie.... hang in there. I believe that a healthy confident mindset will help on those really challenging parts of the course each day, but I am sure you will survive. We are also attempting our first, and I am also not loosing sleep over worrying what if!!!! just know I am going to get to the finish, bar any unforseen accident or mishap. maybe we will meet up at the back of the group
