  1. Chrispy, I know the SA team are still waiting to hear if they are going!!!!!! rumour has it that the unrest there is the stumbling block..... but who knows!!!
  2. Something Midge and I are passionate about.... helping out those less fortunate. Well done guys. BY THE WAY....... Any handouts in the Cape Area will be greatly appreciated. We have a never ending list of Development kids and adults, growing every week, and every bit helps. Remember that what you think is 'rubbish' they just love. Will gladly collect from you. Regards Sharon 083 321 7253
  3. WW.... Please look out for me on your "cool down" lap.... and get me to the end!!!!!!!! Have a Great Ride, and most of all a safe one.
  4. Deepest Sympathy to Popeye and Cruxie, never nice to hear these things, especially at this time of year. pedal2007-12-19 11:49:15
  5. Very sad to read this topic. Condolences to her Husband and family. Be Strong.
  6. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride yesterday.... only did the 40km route.... BUT on my 90kg(sure felt like it) MTB with knobblies..... training for my 'tour' at month end, so had a good work out. (even stopped at the water table!!!!) I would like to say how great the marshalls, traffic and assistants out on the route were, so friendly, encouraging and supportive and made one's spirit pick up a bit.... Best comment was the lady by the Milnerton Hospital on the way out.... think we had done a k.... " looking good... nearly there" hee hee.... and on the way back, she said the same thing..... bless her. Thanks to you and the Team.... great event.
  7. I am doing it...... hope it isn't too difficult.
  8. Aaron Brown in Jhb has helped both my husband and son..... Flew to Jhb, so was a little expensive, but never once have they been sorry.... best set up ever. (Maybe I should bring Aaron to Killarney one Wednesday?????????? 2nd choice Jeroen.... also a great coach.
  9. Old Dog, If your 'source' is correct, then I wish James and Hanlie the best of luck. Such a great couple, and have been very good to Jnr. James is a talented rider, and maybe this move is the return of some wins......
  10. Erika has never been shy about speaking out.... especially the truth. It is sad that someone who does so much, always carries the brunt.... those that do nothing, can never be slated..... they did bugger all. I propose " AUSTIN FOR PRESIDENT"
  11. Never nice to hear. Thoughts and prayers with the families.
  12. Austin, think this also has a 'little' to do with your support and encouragement. Looking back over the last few years, each dominating team, other than Microsoft has had you at the helm..... hasn't gone un-noticed. Well done on this magnificant win.
  13. Welcome back Taylorchick..... Great result, and I am sure SA stands behind you. I now have to have a gripe.... Johan Bornman.... your comment/reply to Taylorchick was pathetic.........
  14. As a mother of a Pro.... NOT Very Much!!!!!!
  15. Rather a spiteful comment made by that Manager. How very sad at this time, especially for his family to hear.
  16. Have had a 'brief' read through the forum, and have many 'thoughts' about the topic. I speak of my own son's case: Jnr has a Medical Aid in SA: A add on to ours, as he is over 21. Covered most costs up to now, including all treatment when collided with the taxi recently. When he travels overseas, I take out a 'top up' through AIG Insurance. Overseas Travel and Sports cover for the duration of his stay: BEST Thing I ever did. He had a few nasty accidents in Belgium, and ALL Costs covered in full. They even took the case against a driver, who tried to sue us, and never heard another word. Yes, was probably expensive, but well worth every single cent spent. It is not for us to decide for others, what is best, what maybe should have been, but maybe to learn and make sure that you have the right cover....... Cycling, as life has its moments.........
  17. Glad to hear you are safe and unharmed.

    Ryan Cox

Just spoken to Karen, Ryans' Mom. Ryan is critical, and we all need to pray for his recovery. Thoughts are with you Karen, Tammy and family. Speedy recovery Ryan.
  19. Thinking of you Rhupert, here's wishing you a speedy recovery.
  20. This is sad news, and not a nice way to be taken out. Condolences to his family.

    TEAM TCS

I would like to say thanks to Carel, for assisting Pedal Jnr in the Jock yesterday.... he was so hoping to get a good finish, but thanks to you, he actually was able to finsh.
  22. This is never nice news. Condolences to all concerned.
  23. This brings us back to the same story.... UNTIL there is ORGANISED Junior cycling, racing overseas, our youngsters will remain years behind the rest of the world. The Tekton boys are proving themselves, but this should not be left to a sponsor to do....... and on and on I could go. I see the Elites and U23 over in Europe, also battling as it is hard, and you can only get better by racing there for a season at a time. Good luck Cherise, you do deserve this great opportunity.
  24. Nellie, that is exactly how I feel about my son's (old) school. We could not have asked for better assistance and support. They still mention his name in the annual Prize Giving as being a Professional Cyclist,( as a career).... and they still have cycling in winter and summer.... Great way to go. Our development programme at Killarney is now gearing towards North vs South Schools...... should be fun, and allow recognition in their schools.
  25. Groot Lem.... so well said. Common sense pervailed in that situation. A great ride by BW... keep the flag flying. I am sure it was not a favorite Team with many Hubbers, but surely our loyality must now be behind this couragious team!!!!
