  1. But then you have to ride a Spez Brand banter aside, if Patrick's description is accurate, then the Ninetyfive29c should be a different design philosophy to S-works. Are they really comparable? I'm not totally clued up on Spez.
  2. I'm in. Hope it's as rough as it looks. Looking forward to a bit of a challenge.
  3. It's a race. Make him fight for his position. Imagine the F1 guys let everyone past But ya, if I see someone is making an effort to let me past. Be it going right or left or just holding a line to let me pass on another, I'm generally appreciative. This guy just sounds like a sourpuss.
  4. Not on the results, yet again. The timers don't seem to like me (not just Racetec). I guess I better query this one, see if I'm doing something wrong.
  5. I got 539m on my phone and another rider 658m on her Garmin with altimeter.
  6. Rule #38 seems to be hard for geared people to understand. They have this odd habit of sprinting off on the flats and then losing interest on the hills
  7. I spent a whole day with paint stripper to get every little piece off. It's worth it in the end. Just have to keep reminding yourself of that.
  8. I have a single speed commuter and mountain bike. It depends on your needs but I find the simplicity improves my enjoyment of riding a bike. Check out the fixie/ singlespeed section of the forum for more info: http://www.thehubsa....ie-singlespeed/
  9. Smashed it!
  10. Just in time!
  11. Video dead for me on Red Bull. Don't have SuperSport to check that.
  12. Haha. I got excited thinking that Spank were now making carbon forks
  13. Nice! Where'd you get the fork?
  14. Results here: http://www.amarider.co.za/ama/php/2014/DieBurger2014/index.php
  15. I believe there is a (very) clear coat of plastic over the styrofoam to protect it but it may mean that it's thinner than most.
  16. Agreed. An elaborate trolling attempt
  17. I'm no expert but aren't these tests putting force in a direction that the bike is designed to take during riding. What happens with something random, like in a crash, say a rock smashing into the top tube? Carbon is still the best for performance bikes regardless.
  18. Also got my tickets.
  19. Min Winde has targeted cycling as a major focus in his plan for tourism growth in the Cape. He also did a fair bit for commuters while in charge of transport.
  20. Move to Cape Town As this guard only accepts cars as legitimate traffic, why not ask the people responsible for the boom to shorten it to allow pedestrians and cyclists to pass through. Being a public road, I can't see how they can refuse. Alternatively, it will get them to sort out this guard.
  21. Apparently, there were issues with the timing and there will be no results.
  22. EDIT: Oh, profile not route map. My misreading.
  23. I find that Livestrong gear is very well priced at the moment.
  24. I went from 203 on Avid CR to 160 on Shimano SLX up front. The 160 setup works and feels better, make your own conclusions (I don't think the rotor size change made the difference ). I do plan to go up to 180 once I get the correct adaptor (hopefully this will make it even better).
