  1. Thanx a million much appreciated...I have printed it out and will keep it handy if needed. also had a look at that knee review on "BikeRadar" looks like we have to take better care of our knees and legs (I think a big % of us don't really take care until it's too late )...after-all...that is the "engine" of our cycling!!! Will be more careful in the future and do more core and other exercises!!! thank you once again!!!
  2. Hi V12 - thanx for the info...sounds really hectic...please explain what NSAIDS drugs means? Or is it only anti-inflammatories as you mentioned? What do we have to look out for...or should we just mention this when going to the doctor that we don't want NSAIDS drugs? Thanx for you kind reply...

    D2D

It was my first D2D and did not know what to expect...as I have never trained the Lion loop (as some Hubbers call it) before...got away in group FL only and did about 60 to 70% of the route alone / between bunches and in the mercy of the WIND eina!!! Did a 3:28 and very happy about it...the end was REALLY tough, but managed not to stop (from all the cramping!!!) hopefully next year will have done more training up to now to get a more respectable time Just had an issue at one of the round-abouts where NO marshalls were and had to rely on another racer to help me not to take the wrong route (thanx again buddy!!!) but in all was a great race and with about total 900mtrs of climbing. Got my medal at the end (just after the finish)...great parking...thanx, will be BACK again next year!!!
  4. I'm IN my FIRST Race for Victory, so NOT sure what to expect...but sure enough it will be interesting!!! just hope the wind gives us a BREAK in 2 weeks time!!! eina...

    D2D

Also in...will be my first D2D thanx for the "heads-up" on the last 30km's
  10. We had: 1. Clamp-on to the back of the car racks, 2. Bike buddies (or whatever they are called) - suspention type rack, 3. Platform rack - which fasten your Top-tube and BOTH wheels. Prefer Platform rack!!! Bit more expensive, but worth the moola's...!!! BUT not sure about the MTB type terrains you mention...maybe someone else can comment as we normally just travel tar and off-road farm type roads...no problems yet!
  11. Also I don't think it's good for Carbon frames - as they are hanging (with a wing-nut type thing) fastening the top tupe, the bikes swing around and (depending on the frame shape) could damage the frame - not sure if your frames are carbon?? But I think worth a mention if someone else reads this thread...
  12. +1 = and it's for charity
  13. O crap sorry yes you are correct thanx BigBen!!! My bad...

  15. It's always lekker when not just the most expensive bikes make a running for the higher runners in a group the bike don't make the rider
  16. +1 Also glad you are not just a statistic!!! WTF man?!?!?!?! we are just like a pot-hole, a STOP street or a ROBOT in their way and in the way of their "busy" life things are NOT going to change!!!
  17. LOL +1 ...very funny, but true!!!

  19. Usually these threads are on a Monday... LOL Hope you guys get it sorted...also had a few mails and phonecalls to EVO and Naas was always "down to the point" and had all the details correct...sorry this had to end up on the HUB looks like it could have been sorted without any "sour-grapes"... Also agree that ONLINE shops could make sure that the small print and details on each product are correct just to make sure these things don't pop-up again...
  20. When I bought my new bike (also Merida) they actually asked which side I wanted the back and front brakes Go to you nearest LBS (or the LBS you trust with your "baby" and ask them to change the brake lines for you It cost a few bucks (or a case of beers) but they can get it fixed... no problem...you can set / or get your bike set up as YOU want it!!! My set-up: Left hand side = Front brake and FD Right hand side = Back brakes and RD
  21. You have MORE cycling kit than normal everyday clothes
