  1. So I guess this is what we'll be wearing next year. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb10670160/p4pb10670160.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb10670165/p4pb10670165.jpg Here is a guide if you're unsure of which style will best suite your riding: http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb10671384/p4pb10671384.jpg Full details can be found here: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/troy-lee-designs-2014-mountain-bike-apparel-and-protection.html
  2. Flippen cool weekend! The enduro was great. Pity about stage 3 getting overly cleared after the XCO event & thus a lot of riders (myself included) getting lost in the last 3rd of the track (but the organizers removed stage 3 to try to level the playing field, although it didn't work in my favour). The DH track was brilliant Steep natural loose stuff at the top and more manicured bike/park style trail at the bottom. Very cool to have so many people participating too. Will post some pics that Patches took a bit later when I get a chance.
  3. 4 Stages!!! Eish, it's going to be a tough weekend.
  4. Sam Pilgrim bike check: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&list=UU-WMwOzgFdvvGVLB1EZ-n-w&v=vcAetyktPGk [hijack] Shouldn't this whole pinned thread be under BMX, DIRT JUMP & TRIALS?[/hijack]
  5. This has worked for me on a couple of bikes... http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb8465534/p4pb8465534.jpg http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Tech-Tuesday-Gorilla-Tape-Tubeless-Conversion.html
  6. The custom NukeProof Mega AM 275 which will be rolling down Cascades in April. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bg19cG1nZz0
  7. Little edit Hylt put together of some of the trails on offer. http://vimeo.com/85427643
  8. Schurter whip http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p3pb10095634/p3pb10095634.jpg Tailwhip http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2/photos/14693/s780_17.jpg?1295625898 I know it's semantics but the two are very different
  9. Will be there. Thanks for organizing
  10. I can only imagine that setting that thing up and bleeding the system, must be a proper ball ache!
  11. Well the DH wraps up on Saturday for a change, so at least I can hang around for the after party this time
  12. Awesome! http://www.pinkbike.com/video/351579/
  13. All the acts & BS they impose on us do very little for the sport Track sounds fun Nige, looking forward to it.
  14. Sam Pilgrim & chjommies in SA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NJzzT6vqxwk
  15. Here is a topic from sometime back, when JB used to respond on the Hub. 1) https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/128757-how-to-remove-dents-from-rims/ 2) https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/81195-dented-tubeless-mtb-wheel-what-to-do/ Consensus seems to be not to bend them out using a spanner as you further fatigue the metal. Rather hammer the dent out.
  16. As Nige says, the next 2 races are there. Come down and race . KZN series #3 is 2 weekends away 02 March 2014 SA National #1 happens 14 - 16 March 2014 KZN Champs is 27 April 2014 (this is a long weekend). So there is plenty opportunity to get that fancy new M9 of yours dirty.
  17. Okay, Peach put me onto the results. You can find the complete list (for all events) at Elite Timing
  18. If there is an electronic version of the DH results won't you please post that. My right leg is not impressed with my (lack of) riding talent this morning. Gutted I binned it where I did cos it felt like I was on a decent run. Good job to DaveMD for giving Nige a good run for his money (Sub-vets, that is where the racing is happening ) Awesome event(s) and once again well organized & put together. See you at Cascades in 2 weeks.
  19. Then you're riding at them from the wrong side...
  20. Yeah but even the really soft trial compound MX tyres don't do so well with the Nu Tech system (they cut at the rim) and super low pressures. My personal feeling is those side walls will have to be so thick that the weight penalty may not be worth the slightly lower pressures OR you'd you'd run simmilar pressures to normal tubeless tyres, but the high pressure internal chamber will simply act as a bead lock to prevent burping.
  21. The Nu-tech sytem works really (I find) for dirt bikes and you can run very low pressures (0.5-0.7bar), but I can't imagine this will transfer to MTB well. I don't think the sidewalls willl be strong enough TBH. It seems like they are creating a solution for a pproblem that does not exist, since MTB already has tubless pretty much sorted. That said, I'm interested to see how this develops and the price point of the dual chamber tyres.
  22. Good work Hicks Now go get a beer and have a good weekend. I'm going dirt jumping.
  23. Nah, looks like he is wearing La Sportiva (Muiras) http://a2.zassets.com/images/z/1/3/1/4/4/3/131443-p-MULTIVIEW.jpg
  24. Alex Honnold made the first-ever free solo ascent of El Sendero Luminoso on January 15th, 2014 (after pre-climbing the route to check it out and clean it). El Sendero Luminosoa is situated on 1500-foot big wall in Monterrey, Mexico, rated 5.12d (South African 28, read : butt hard difficult). This is a raw, slo-mo clip from his climb of pitch 7, 5.12a (grade 25 in SA). Makes my hands sweat watching this.
  25. That's just south-east of my current pin, but essentially the same area & catchment that would be affected.
