  1. Great to have news like this on the site! Good job to all the riders! I think that track made everyone concentrate hard on sticking to their lines and tested every single rider who participated. Gutted to have missed it, but got to enjoy the great vibe in and around the main spectators point which was pretty full. Thanks to all that put these events together. The SA DH community is a brilliant bunch of people. Congrats to all who took part and obviously to all the winners on the day.
  2. Gutted to be missing this one. Track looks rad! Thanks to all who lifted a spade and created this beast
  3. I argue with everyone it seems, but I don't remember this particular argument. Vok, maybe I am a vet? *PS - You're going down like a homesick mole Hicks! You're crossfit training ain't gonna help you come Sunday!
  4. Sub-vets... Nige & I aren't that old yet!
  5. Well done to Stefan Garlicki & Pottie for a 4th & 9th place finish. Conditions looked super tough!
  6. Absolutely shattered today!!! But what a weekend! Trails, organization and just the general vibe was brilliant at both events! The KK DH track was absolutely brilliant! Hylt (Turvey) and in particular Jay Ngubane who did a top job on getting the track prepped. Nige & Thane for the taping. etc, etc. Huge thanks to all the riders for obeying the rules and requests from the land owners (Sappi), it makes things a lot easier for everyone!
  7. Thanks a lot Ewald, it was a brilliant day out on the bike! What do you mean the man cave looks tidy and organized? I always keep it organised according to this mind map... http://latitude53.org/files/u2/archive/2014/we/mindmap-1280.jpg
  8. Results are available on Elite Timing
  9. No rain yet, but very overcast at the moment.
  10. Great pics! Everyone I spoke to said the track was awesome.
  11. Agreed! Genuinely looks like a fun (dirty) day out.
  12. Gamut not stock blue bits? Looks good Peach.
  13. Ha ha, ja Nige smoked me on his home track. Cyril Spence from JHB also beat me with his first run, but since the above article is in relation to the National series, I in theory managed a 2nd as Cyril & Craig Paul both crashed in their 2nd race runs. CSA has pretty much axed DH so to keep costs down 2 regional events from the Western Cape and 2 regional events from KZN double up as National events, which can make things quite confusing. So to clarify the regional event (in KZN) is based on the best of 2 race runs. The national event only uses your 2nd race run for the national series so my consistency worked for me here.
  14. For the ladies it was: Rika Olivier Simone Futter Beanie Thies Kathryn FourieSorry to the other ladies whose names I just don't know but every one did really well just to get down that track repeatedly.
  15. It was a great weekend and the track was certainly tough. Here is a pic of the 1st page of final results from yesterday. Personally I found the mid-section of the track really tough with a number of loose dusty corners that were quite hard to carry speed on. All in all a great weekend that was tough on the rider and the bike. That said, it couldn't have all been about the bike as 4th placed Theo Erlangsen rode the pants off the Capra he was on! I'm sure a full write up will be up in a bit.
  16. Great write up yet again Ewald! Does Hayden ever have his wheels on the ground?
  17. Such a great weekend of riding! Thanks to all of those people who put the time and effort in to make it happen Venue was great, tracks were great, timing was great etc, etc The DH was absolutely awesome to watch (after my run) and those top 5 are on another level! Good times!
  18. Will be down for the next one as it is a regional/national event
  19. Great to hear, but they missed the bus by like 4 years! Still good to hear that things are going to be moving forward again.
