  1. Sounds like a challenge
  2. Peach is allergic to most things. I highly doubt he'll drink a Mutzig, so I will drink his share when you're buying
  3. The visas have been granted. Game on. My back up plan, should I destroy my bike early on in the trip will be one of 'em YT's
  4. I only ever get the 'normal mail' option and have to date had few issues. One issue that could be holding up your order is that maybe one of the items in your order is currently 'Out of Stock' E-mail CRC with your order number and ask if anything from their side is holding it up. If CRC have dispatched the order they would have sent you a ParcelForce tracking number EE12345689GB. Once you got that you can track the parcel via the ParcelForce website. Once it lands in SA and it the status says "Awaiting Customs Clearance" or "Held" give the PO a call and use the EE123456789GB as the tracking number. They'll give you a local tracking number "ii123456789za" and be able to tell you where it is in the local system. Good Luck
  5. What can't the internet teach you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6cOmyTj5gk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F7dArTAxFg
  6. Final question... Ski lift pass. Did you purchase that here or in Morzine? Also, I have heard or read that you need to take an ID picture along. Is that true? Thanks for all the info OM! When you next venture up to the 'big smoke' I think you deserve a beer or 10
  7. Great, thanks for the info. Is it a jacket like this? http://www.kway.co.za/arc.aspx I'm thinking of going for either the First Ascent 'Apple' (http://www.firstascent.co.za/web/product-details.php?prodid=741&catid=245&level=3)OR the CapeStorm 'Helium' (http://www.capestorm.co.za/products/detail/23?cat=16&activity=30) The roll -offs only work in mud. As soon as water gets in behind the film you're faarked. I know a lot of guys (mx/enduro) treat their lenses with C-thru or similar to get the water to roll off the lens while out riding in the rain. Think I may try this.
  8. Hey OM what did you do for rain gear? I know you have mentioned a fancy Goretex jacket (was that not overkill?). And what would suggest would be the bare minimum that you could get away with?
  9. Just lose some weight fat-ass!
  10. The bike in this vid looks very familiar... http://vimeo.com/45122135#
  11. Also, that is for '08/'09 CODES so I'm not sure if it'll be the same connectors for newer models.
  12. Go for the 104 kit, which is: 1 x M8 0.75 male fixed connectors 1 x M8 0.75 male swivel 2 x collars http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/150/20426.jpg The swivel connection is not as long as the fixed connection, so the end of it does not but up against the internal of the lever/calliper. As a precautionary measure I have ordered 2 more fixed connections as they seem to be slightly longer. Tough wood, the conversion is not leaking at either end of the pipe. The last thing you want to get while in France, is the drip (with no cure).
  13. I've already pulled the trigger on High Rollers (2.5's SuperTacky). Code Goodridge conversion complete. New BB done. Just need to install the new chain ring, cassette & bars & I'm good to go.
  14. Visa submission done! Time will tell if France will spread her legs for us allow us to enter.
  15. Wooo hoo the psyche is all good for this trip! Thanks for the pics OM. When do you release the movie? Edit to add: that my bike has had a full set of new pivot bearings installed & the revamped brakes (Goodridge) go on either this weekend or next week sometime
  16. You love your slow-mos neh?
  17. Cool, so 12 on Sunday. Let's see how many folk we can get there. Thanks a lot for sharing your spot.
  18. There are two vids here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/115347-dh-national-2-track-139-saturday-practice-vid/ They'll give you a good idea of the track.
  19. You can definitely ride 139 on a trail bike. All the obstacles have chicken runs and the track is in general very bike friendly (when compared to other Gauteng DH tracks). There are a good couple of vids of the track so give them a watch and then you can make the call.
  20. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5468/7394884264_84d6b1111d_z.jpg The Barons in action. Pic from GeeCee. Note shin protection
  21. I was wearing the Barons I think... but I cased that jump so hard that I don't think even clips would have kept me locked in. I was also on someone else's bike and obviously not on my pedals. I had no business hitting that jump. I got what I deserved.
  22. I got a set too. They are really awesome shoes. I prefer them over the Impacts as they are slightly more flexible which for me feels like they grip even better. The rubber also seems to be holding up pretty well to the abuse of the riding and pedals (I run slightly longer studs). Good shoe! You won't regret buying them.
