  1. For me so far it has been Howick/Karkloof. There is SO much excellent riding around there, catering to every skill level & every riding type. Also Hilton & PMB are just down the road.
  2. Devil's Tooth Amphitheater in the Groot Drakenstein mountains behind Boschendal, between Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Same Location as this jump... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV88pEouZzo&feature=player_embedded
  3. All the riding featured is in the Karkloof and surrounds.
  4. Wow, the impact didn't look that bad. Unlucky Peach. Heal up soon. Thanks again for the use of your tire
  5. WOW! http://vimeo.com/37703135 Very nice edit too.
  6. I think we need more of these... Here is something from a friend in KZN. http://vimeo.com/34650349
  7. Cant seem to get the Vimeo to embed properly. Birdmen - The original dream of flight http://www.birdmenthemovie.com
  8. If you have horizontal drop-out you don't need a chain tensioner. You take up the slack in the chain by shifting the rear axle in the horizontal drop outs. Most bikes either have a bolt system (to push the axle backwards) OR a chain tug (which pulls the rear axle). WRT to setting up the rear wheel you can either buy an aftermarket conversion kit OR you can make your own spacers (just Google it there are heaps of options) I've find you want a gear ratio of just over 2 (so 26 up front & 12 on the back). I'm currently running 22/12 and I spin out way too easy, but it's okay for the riding I've been doing.
  9. So is Pebble Beach gone from the top section then?
  10. Damn, I can't believe those tables got bigger
  11. If I hit that thing it'll be on my Gambler. Can't make the ride tonight as I have to entertain my nephew. MissionS & I will be heading to 139 tomorrow if you're keen. The guys are working on it, but we hope to help/get a ride in.
  12. Ja, good point Peach. My Crack-n-sell Meta 5.5 also succumbed to those types of forces. Mental note - stop casing jumps
  13. Personally I'd go with a DJ bike. They are robust and you can certainly learn all the trials basics on DJ bike, learn how to dirt jump and just play on the street. Once you've got the basics down you can decide in which direction you'll want to head (i.e. more trials based or more DJ based) and you'll also have a good idea on what the best bike/upgrades will work for you. If you want to reduce running costs further you can convert it to a single speed.
  14. In a nutshell. Yes. I guess I better start saving now so that I can afford a plastic bike in a couple years time One thing I don't like about the plastic bikes is that although they are obviously stronger, when they do fail it's pretty catastrophic.
  15. This should help put you mind at ease Patches Although that Crack-n-dale ain't no Santa Cruz... http://www.pinkbike.com/v/243228
  16. Why is Drummond never working in any of those pics? Make him work harder Nige! Thanks for all the hard work fellas, looking really good
  17. G*d damn that is HOT!
  18. Thanks Peach for putting this together A long weekends worth of riding in KZN, December 2011. Good times. http://vimeo.com/35903761
  19. I see you front fork & shock were set up just the way you like your suspension... As stiff as possible. Unlikely you'll ever blow through all your travel. You really should just get a fully rigid bike, you'd love it.
  20. But they both 29'ers
  21. Can't see the vid I nearly bit it yesterday morning crossing the weir by Field n Study. The flow was a tad stronger than I expected from the previous nights rain. Fortunately I got a foot down just as my bikes back tire washed off the weir. Saturated spruit foot ain't a great way to start your day off, but it could be worse.
  22. You still jump like a trials rider
  23. I guess it must be a One Industries influence. I suspect that they have not developed a DH specific helmet so he gets to pick one from there Moto Line.
  24. Agreed. Those guys are tough!
  25. If you can't appreciate the yoga, you can appreciate the girl OR vise versa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loszrEZvS_k&feature=player_embedded
