I had a Commencal Meta 5.5 too and manged to bend several of the axles that run through the lower eyelet of the shock. I was told by Absolute biking it was due to me running too much SAG (30%). The Commencal data sheet suggests that you run only 20% SAG for optimum and a max SAG of 25%. To achieve the 20% SAG I had to run the Fox Float R at 210 - 215psi. Unfortunately the frame cracked at the headtube and has since been replaced. So, if you ever need the rear triangle, linkage or hangers (I have 2 derailleur hangers), drop me a PM.

1. Shift MX top (I've been reall happy with the quality of the stuff) 2. Through a Hubber 3. As little as possible because I'm just going to trash it at some point 4. It's MX but I don't see the difference with a DH specific top.

I'm running the 2.5 on my DH rig (back tire only). I like the thick side walls and the fact that the min recommended pressure is super low (22psi if I remember correctly). I'm running it at 30psi with tubes and I'm yet to pinch. I'd feel totally comfortable running these tubeless too (although I have not done this... yet). They seem to hook up fine (not quite as good at the Minon, I had on, but they were 42a compound) and roll well. In my opinion, a robust tire at a great price.

Sorry for the poor quality pic. When Flat Pedals bite back. Sometimes not even 5.10's can make up for ones lack of talent. 7 stitches but I was still riding the next weekend I still prefer flats over clips for playing.

Yes Sir! I plan to have the bike in tip top shape for the trip. Will do fork oil just before I go. The Codes are getting a Goodridge conversion (& obviously new fluid) in the next couple of weeks. I plan to take an extra set of pads too. 203's front & back, yes sir! I'm hoping the dirt bike riding will help with the expected arm pump. Anti-inflamatories shall now be added to the list. I'm going to have to pre-book some additional weight

Dude, reading this trip report has me so amped on our trip in August. It seems like the costs haven't gone up too much either, Woooo hoooo! Can't wait.
