  1. Definitely try the grease as Alan attested. Yes the shim like things are the anti-rattle springs, they stop the pads from vibrating and causing the high pitched squeal we all know and love. There's also a specific anti-squeal paste available, but I've never seen it (I haven't really looked that hard).
  2. Have you tried the high temperature grease on the back of the pads? Made sure the anti rattle springs are installed correctly; there's no linear movement in the pads i.e they fit snugly into the caliper. It could be the pad material, is there a lot of dust on the wheels?
  3. If you have a nerd shop locally you might as well try them, but otherwise the Takealot deal is just what you need.
  4. LAN cable and two routers would be the most reliable and cheapest. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/networks/1401371/how-to-extend-wi-fi-range-increase-speed-and-fix-problems/page/0/4
  5. High temperature grease on the back of the pads. Check that the disks are not warped or scored. Has it just started?
  6. I laughed 'cos a few weeks ago I went to a meeting in a sharply tailored suit and an Adidas tennis shirt, as even though I'd checked, my sharp shirt which I had definitely packed was not in my bag and my spare which was definitely in my locker was not in my locker. Mondays are fine, it's Tuesdays which really muck me up. Keep tensing those abs.
  7. Hahahahaha!
  8. Apart from the "Douchebaggery" and there was a lot, the nineties was a great time to be a music lover in the UK. The end of Shoegazing, the renaissance of guitar based indie rock, gigs everywhere it was great! I was travelling the world as was the want of my employer and living between Bayswater and Cape Town. I've been a very lucky fellow,
  9. John Peel's favourite song of all time. Seek out the documentary it's excellent.
  10. Here you go: And this: http://www.mickjonesrockandrollpubliclibrary.com/index.php/about
  11. It was the nineties, pretty much everyone around Britpop were acting like dicks. Weller is one of my heroes s o I'm a bit of an apologist. Here's some angry stuff: The Clash, The Specials, The Jam and Joy Division on a programme called Something Else. It captures the live spirit very well especially Funeral Pyre by The Jam. I was lucky enough to be around to see them all live. The Jam and the Clash the most. Oh Yes. And a note for Man at C&A by the Specials: C&A was a boring clothes shop chain.
  12. The magnificent Matt Johnson with the peerless Jonny Marr. Considering this song was written in 1989 the lyrics are eerily prescient.
  13. I've used the cycle lane in the dark a lot, if you're early, the biggest problem is dozy pedestrians which I'm sure you're used to. I do carry a pepper spray, but fortunately have never had cause to use it. Edit: incorrect use of the present participle or possibly a typo.
  14. No worries. I'm not being a smartarse by the way I just like lmgtfy.
  15. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=autoplay+in+exodus There you go.
  16. With a CVT, paddle shifters, and artificial “gears" address two classic gripes: the rubber-band effect (engine revs get higher, car speed eventually catches up) and the no-driver-involvement issue. (Paraphrased from Car & Driver).
  17. It sounds to me as though you're recognising the eq/flange effect especially on Just Like Heaven. Is this the type of thing you mean? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnDjtRP1Azs
  18. And they're not even proper Whales. (Dolphin family). Over compensating I think...
  19. Dunno what the problem is, he's thought of everything, it's even got twin rear brakes.
  20. I refer you to Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity once again. The hypothesis is an interesting read. If you like that sort of thing...
  21. See Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity viz Spacetime (I agree with you by the way). And time does exist, that picture is silly. It's like saying physics doesn't exist just because it's been named. The elements are all there whatever they are called.
  22. Hope you can decipher the accents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ZTrXAxZ-g&feature=youtu.be
  23. I did indeed. After flying with the magnificent tailwind home at times managing 50km/h on the flat, which is quick for me! I turned into my road (which runs in an easterly direction) and was almost blown straight onto the verge. It was pretty hard work riding in yesterday morning against the (moderate!) SE. I ache today.
  24. This is more his style... Mondo Lamborghini! : http://d3k0ryy13u1ku5.cloudfront.net/media/k2/galleries/1713/160413_Gallery_1000x620.jpg
