  1. Keep in mind that the R890 includes the overheads of the dealership and workshop (which are generally very costly glass and chrome setups...).
  2. I have a few original Stanley's and may look at selling. What are you looking for specifically?
  3. Did my return on Monday, got paid today. R7k odd
  4. Thanks! Learnt something new
  5. That cannot be NZ. People are walking OUTSIDE of the lines
  6. I've been following this. Amazing racing!! The tech in AC these days is mind boggling
  7. Expect a strongly worded private message in 3; 2; 1...
  8. Boxing gloves vs MMA gloves - BIG difference in the ring. Mcgregor is gonna get schooled properly here me thinks.
  9. Again, I fail to see the point you're trying to make. This thread is about the personal experiences of hubbers in and around NZ. I don't understand your insistence that a random news story MUST be discussed? Why? What about all the other news stories that happen in NZ each day? It almost sounds like you're trying very hard to convince yourself of something... EDIT: Seeing your later response, seems I was spot on!
  10. It was because coppi mentioned anal, isn't it?

  12. Why is it 'ugly'? NZ is a country, not a charity. And why should any single person, regardless of how touching their story is, be exempt from the same rules that apply to all? The very reason why 1st world countries are 1st world, is because they discriminate as to who they would like to live within their borders... Whole families are also deported from the US when their visas expire, and from Dubai, and from South Africa. Some of them have equally tragic circumstances. Should they then all be allowed to stay?
  13. Ericssons do pretty decent pine (and other wood) stuff. http://www.ericssonsmattress.co.za
  14. No doubt. Less than 0.5% of saffers who move to Oz ever leave (based on their immigration stats). I've many friends and family there who've made a good life over there, but then again I've got many friends and family who have a pretty good life here - me included. It's a very tough decision to make.
  15. Thanks! I know a few people that have come back from NZ and Oz recently, some stayed there less than a year others more than 10 years. I'm busy pondering a move to Oz at the moment, but not 100% convinced yet. So it's always good to hear first hand experiences.
  16. Care to share some of your thinking or reasons?
  17. I usually halve it and it makes 2 big, thin pizzas. I've frozen a batch and used it 3 months later and it was great. Freeze it just after knocking down and wrap it well to prevent drying out. I added a small amount of water to work it after defrost. What I normally do is blind bake the base for 2 mins without toppings (use baking beans or a baking tray on top to keep it flat). Then I add the sauce, cheese and topping and bake for around 7 mins at 230C.
  18. This is my tried and tested recipe. Enjoy! Thin-crust pizza dough Ingredients 800g strong white bread flour or Tipo ‘00’ flour, plus 200g finely ground semolina flour 1 level tablespoon fine sea salt 2 x 7g sachets of dried yeast 1 tablespoon golden castor sugar/honey 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 650ml lukewarm water Directions Sieve the flour/s and salt on to a clean work surface and make a well in the middle. In a jug, mix the yeast, sugar and olive oil into the water and leave for a few minutes, then pour into the well. Using a fork, bring the flour in gradually from the sides and swirl it into the liquid. Keep mixing, drawing larger amounts of flour in, and when it all starts to come together, work the rest of the flour in with your clean, flour-dusted hands. Knead until you have a smooth, springy dough. Place the ball of dough in a large flour-dusted bowl and flour the top of it. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and place in a warm room for about an hour until the dough has doubled in size. Now remove the dough to a flour-dusted surface and knead it around a bit to push the air out with your hands – this is called knocking back the dough. You can either use it immediately, or keep it, wrapped in clingfilm, in the fridge (or freezer) until required. If using straight away, divide the dough up into as many little balls as you want to make pizzas – this amount of dough is enough to make about six to eight medium pizzas. Timing-wise, it’s a good idea to roll the pizzas out about 15 to 20 minutes before you want to cook them. Don’t roll them out and leave them hanging around for a few hours, though – if you are working in advance like this it’s better to leave your dough, covered with clingfilm, in the fridge. However, if you want to get them rolled out so there’s one less thing to do when your guests are round, simply roll the dough out into rough circles, about 0.5cm thick, and place them on slightly larger pieces of olive-oil-rubbed and flour-dusted tinfoil. You can then stack the pizzas, cover them with clingfilm, and pop them into the fridge.
  19. Fair price considering you have box and papers. Wrong colour for me though
  20. Got any pics and more model details? Year would help too.
  21. Have you ever ridden an e-bike?
  22. I don't see how access for pedal assist e-bikes is an issue? It's the equivalent of saying that pro riders should also have restricted access because their speed differential over normal riders is too high. And that's exactly what riding with someone on a pedal assist e-bike is like - just like riding with a faster, fitter rider.
  23. I personally don't use strava, so no. I only ride for enjoyment and don't really care what other people do on their bikes or how they get to the top of climbs. So long as they don't get in my way or damage the trails excessively, they can do what they like.
  24. Not sure I agree with all of this. We have 2 e-bikes that ride with our group weekly. It's a fast group and the 2 e-bikers are not fast riders, but we do enjoy their company. I see no issues in them joining us and enjoying the trails. Sure, if they claimed to be KOM or tried to pretend they were riding under their own steam it would become a problem. But they don't. And as for claiming strava KOM's, well there were strava cheats long before e-bikes came along. Drafting motorbikes, cutting corners, etc. etc. Just add e-bikes to the list... As with most things in life, it comes down to the individual using the e-bike. Don't paint them all with the same brush.
