  1. She more than likely feels the emotion, but she wants you to hurt a little bit too. I hope you get through this soon.
  2. I've just had a very similar discussion at home. I could well say that the sharing in this thread may have helped saved my marriage.
  3. From what you've posted, you are badly positioned to end up footing the bill for your wife's poor financial decisions (both past and present). If I were in your position, I would consult a lawyer in my private capacity, just to protect my financial interests in this process. There is no need to put your financial security at risk due to her actions.
  4. The mediator will explain to her that she has no legal recourse for you to "maintain her lifestyle". If she wants to live alone then she will need to foot the bill for that lifestyle...
  5. You are not far off IMO. Read a stat that 40% of BTC in circulation is held by about 100 individuals. That makes the model very susceptible to manipulation and pump & dump movements. I personally know of one person with significant holdings in BTC, and they are very much profiting from these massive movements. I believe a lot of it is being coordinated on Telegram groups.
  6. As a Pyga fan I tend to agree, their framesets are pricey. Starts competing with some very established brands, and is also the main reason I built something different this time round. They are still lovely bikes though.
  7. It's the biggest problem with crypto (and any market driven by sentiment, I guess). One news article or rumour, whether true or false, send the markets flying or crashing. I think we'll see lots of changes int he coming weeks. For one, SARB is working hard to have local platform transactions reported to them.
  8. Reuters disagrees with you https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-southkorea-bitcoin/south-korea-plans-to-ban-cryptocurrency-trading-rattles-market-idUSKBN1F002A Sure it may take some time, but the intent is what's rattled the market.
  9. BTC has taken a beating this week - Buffet shooting it down in the media, trading soon to be banned in South Korea, and a few others. I don't see it coming back up too soon. XRP have major legal issues, so depending on the outcome of that it will recover, or not. I've got cash in some of the smaller altcoins, and some have done remarkably well in the past 2 weeks. The trick is to know when to sell back into cash.
  10. On that section, Benjoh is also worth a trip. Some really good fish in the small channels upstream on the left. Just be weary of the land owner directly upstream, he's a feisty one.
  11. I spent many a day there when I Iived in Joburg. They've got some lovely sections and moderately easy wading, which helps.
  12. ANC with accrual seems pretty straight forward. Total estate value for both of you, less what she started with, less what you started with, less any exclusions. Then split the remainder down the middle. Is that about right?
  13. Yeah, and Facebook does create (fake) content to drive ad revenue (although they'd prefer if that wasn't discussed again )
  14. Mavungana in Dullstroom do lessons on their beginners pond and then also have some lovely day waters available. Very decent bunch of guys, ask for Colin.
  15. Also using Jaxx as a wallet. Very nice app!
  16. Me too. Seems to counter the gains in BTC. Long term, I think ETH is the one to hold on to. From a technology pov it's the best of the lot and the most scalable.
  17. All currency, FIAT or crypto, is valued on sentiment. The big difference with crypto, and BTC specifically, is that buying and selling is a peer to peer transaction. It's the equivalent of valuing the US$ rate based on a dodgy cash transaction at the Zim border post. You can bid on crypto at any value you wish, and you can sell crypto at any value you wish. This creates a demand spiral, which we're seeing the start of now. My major concern with crypto trading is that none of the online trading services are registered FSP's. They don't have any IGF facility to guarantee your funds,a nd they are totally unregulated (and handling massive volumes of funds!). It's all a recipe for a very sad story.
  18. Against my main investment strategy, I put cash into ETH, LTC, and BTC this morning as a bit of a punt. Bit of fun to add to following the usual equities.
  19. There is no fixed trading price with BTC. You literally put your coins for sale at whatever rate you desire. The rate we see int he media is normally based on the current rate from one of the larger wallets, such as XE or Coin Exchange. Here's site that illustrates this well. Very different H/L prices simply dependent on what buyers were willing to pay https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/btc/markets/USD
  20. I posted earlier in this thread that I left getting into BTC too late for my risk appetite. Lots of my mates got in early and have made substantial gains. I also have concerns about the security of crypto wallets. The demand is driven by 2 main things: 1) FOMO, hype and everyone wanting to get in on the action - remember, the price is set by each seller, not the market. Prices vary massively between different online wallets. 2) The demand for a payment mechanism that bypasses traditional state controls. This is what is driving the value the most IMO, especially now that Wall Street have run test cases successfully.
  21. Demand is not an intangible, and that is precisely what drives prices of BTC. There is also a limited production run (21 million) after which the price should increase further.
  22. Look at that picture. Look at it! Now go wash your mouth out with soap.
  23. It has one of the most progressive rear setups on ANY bike I've ridden. I found mine almost impossible to bottom out once it was setup properly.
  24. Are they still glossy? I find spez tyres a little slippery until the release agent has worn off. Normally takes 2-3 decent rides on my trails. You'll especially notice this on rocks.
  25. Noooo, DON'T try and tow! It will end in tears. Rather ride with her so you can give her a push where needed and coach her along.
