  1. I've been seeing great results from the diet. I've managed to shed 15kg's in around 16 or 17 weeks. It's getting harder to remember how many weeks I've been doing it. I've found it quite amazing that 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast sustains me longer that a huge bowl of mueselli. My riding is getting stronger, but I put that down to fitness in general and the loss of the extra weight. Who needs needs to count grams on your bike components, when you can just not eat that slice of bread
  2. Love this song ... always gets the foot tapping ... and strangely makes me want to go have a good shot of Vodka
  3. When Starfish was released I listened to it non stop for quite a while, with this one of my favourite tracks at the time. There were quite a few Aussie bands around in the 80's ... Midnight Oil :-) I found a remastered version of Starfish the other day, so went on a nostalgia trip this morning with it.

  6. If you're referring to these trails .... http://www.hermanusadventures.co.za/trails/ ... then, although they are probably great to ride I am definitely more interested in more downhill type riding. Riding a Uni is not a distance thing for me, I like technical downhill mostly
  7. (sorry for the double post in trails and routes) I'm going to be spending most of next week chilling in Onrus and want to ride some downhill trails. I believe there is a downhill trail running from the top of the mountain in Hermanus ? Is that still around, and are there any other downhill trails ? or any other downhill single track that is quite technical ? I'm not really interested in doing a 30km mtb ride as I'll be riding my Uni and for me downhill is what blows my hair back

  9. I've been hoping that I wouldn't have to part with any schmee, but cycling is not as economical as unicycling I do like the simplicity of unicycles for a number of reasons, but they don't rate high on efficiency in covering any distance
  10. hhhhmmm shows how much I know, didn't know the chain had a specific direction. The chain was fitted by a tech at a bike shop after the chain that I fitted snapped after 200km's. (see point 1) Looking at the derailleur it does seem "out of line", or rather twisted slightly. But then again I've been looking at this thing for too long to even see straight anymore
  11. Year and half, 5500 km's ... Cassette is original, chain has done about 3500 km's.
  12. I am using a 9 gear cassette and am having a problem with gear skipping/slipping on 1 gear specifically, in my case #8, 2nd smallest. No adjustment up or down seems to correct the problem, just mild skipping to massive skipping. This only happens under load. My gear changes are great and don't have a problem with that. It happens to be the gear I like to do most of my riding in, but rather annoying if I need to quickly apply more power to go faster etc but can't as I need to first change either up or down to do that. I can run on a larger chain ring and use other gears to get the same ratio that I like, but it still needs fixing. Any ideas of where / what I should be looking at, as I am scratching my head at the moment ?
  13. Awesome thanks. I had my workout set to Cycling, Sport. After much clicking I've managed to update my workouts for the year. Reasonably chuffed with myself with just over 1000 km's so far.
  14. Joined the challenge, however none of my workouts are showing up in the challenge ? Anyone have an idea why ? I've searched the site options and online help and don't find anything. I may just be blind and missed something totally obvious.
  15. Or out, in my case
  16. lol ... the thought did cross my mind I have to say Although not being as practised as you I may come off 2nd best
  17. Pedestrians are Hell's Spawn deliberately trying to walk straight into you, despite looking you straight in the eyes, but yet carry on their merry path/collision course ..... ok not always, but this morning I would swear that some dark power was pushing people straight into my path.
