  1. Just entered for the Rhino run next week (Gauteng leg) Is going to be a tough one

  3. Bliks@m the scrub hare trailrun was hard, the mountain climbing really killed me I will loose at least two toe nails from kicking rocks that ambushed me from under the grass. But very well organised and route was well marked.

  5. My wife went running on Saturday and found this lying next to a rubbish bin, so she hid it under a bush for me. A Brooks B17N in very good condition. You can see it is used, but cant see why it was dumped. oh well, one mans trash is another mans treasure

  9. Update on this topic. I am now in my 3rd month of crossfit. Must say I am really enjoying it. Actually looking forward to each class. nice way to fill up training on the days it is too cold to go out riding or running. Started very easy on all training that you use weights, and made sure I got the technique right. Touch wood, no injuries sofar Pro's: * I lost 3kg, and already can notice more muscle mass * I recover quicker after my runs * A run faster and can sustain for longer (did my 10km TT 2 weeks ago in just over 40min) * I can wear clothes again from a few years back * Can actually do a static pull up for the first time in years Cons: My cycling took a knock. After doing serious squat and jump session, hill training is a bitch, but that's OK, more concentrating on running at the moment

  18. I went to the event at supersport park over the weekend for a look-see (Last Team standing) Way too much testosterone there (and that includes the woman) Anyway, will be doing another class tonight, but I haven't been this sore since my first comrades.

  23. I used to go trail running or biking at Voortrekker monument on Friday afternoons. Now with the issues there, I now do my afternoon trailrun at moreletta reserve. Really nice 10km you can do there if you do 2 laps in opposite directions.
  24. Last night was just and intro and next week Wednesday we will start the ramp-up class. Must say I am more useless in the upper body than I thought. But looking forward to something new
  25. I dug this topic up. Will go to my first crossfit class today. Havent done any core exercises in 6 months. Gonna die.... Turning 40 this year, so decided I need to start doing something in addition to running and cycling to build some muscle mass and fight the age.
