  1. That pic of Adriaan Louw's front wheel going wobly could start the whole lefty debate again. He did great to still finish after riding with it like that for 2laps at least.
  2. http://www.cyclingnews.com/mtb.php?id=mtb/2009/mar09/george09/george091 Cyclingnews posted this story about the race with some nice photo's too.
  3. Let me rephrase. These pics are awesome. Can't wait for the downhill.
  4. Very nice Ronelle. Just edit the last one. I am hardly the designer. Just one of the people who give their free time to build some track. The real credit should go to Fred Lingevelder and Pan van Tonder.
  5. Very nice pics. Man I never realized just how fast Burry was until I saw him today on the long climb. He just rode away from a high quality field.
  6. You still get Methiolate. It burns like the furnaces of Hell. I have seen grown men cry like babies when they apply it to the effected area. Serendipity2009-03-13 11:18:56
  7. I have a problem with the topic line. As someone who works with rape victims everyday, I can assure you paying an exorbitant fee for a race is nothing like getting raped. It is insensitive and demeaning to woman and men who have been through such an ordeal. Call it getting screwed if you want to. The title was obviously meant to draw attention.
  8. Bling is for people who need attention.
  9. Does anyone know why Kevin Evans did not start? I see his name on the Time Trial start list too?
  10. Try a Thudbuster seatpost - they are a little bit extra weight but apparently worth it.
  11. My wife decided to bail at Hout Bay and I arranged for us to be picked up there. I would have been lived if we had carried on to Suikerbossie only to be told we can't continue I would have been slightly upset. I think riding a bike on the descent from Chappies into Hout Bay with people getting blown all over the road was probably one of the scariest things I have done on a bike.
  12. No amount of spin will stop this one I'm afraid. If Tiger Brands with very high power and priced attorneys could't spin their way out of it, I fear the parties concerned here will find it tough to get out of this one. It is imo best to say you are sorry and promise not to do it again. That way you may get off with a slap on the wrist. What irks me about this reply is that "As an attendee of the meeting, Cycle Lab believes that the conference was aimed at providing positive outcomes for the entire industry ? wholesalers, retailers and consumers " How can fixing a price increase in that range be to the advantage of consumers? Pull the other one it's got bells on.
  13. Sorry make that 4 - Arno Viljoen is also there.
  14. He may be tiny but he has got a big heart. He finished in 15th according to the results. I see three mountain bikers in the top 15 with David George and Mannie Heymans there. Serendipity2009-03-05 11:13:05
  15. Holy, I feel your pain. The question that is going to keep you up at night will be - would you have posted it had you known them before. The answer I believe is that there are no small crimes. What they did is a crime. Reporting it is a civic duty. Would you have gone to the police if they had comitted murder?
  16. For saddle sores you should try the baby bum cream you get at the local supermarket. For bleeding of disc brakes just be careful. Some makes (Hayes I think for one) have different fluids. Some of those fluids are extremely corrosive and do bad things to good paint jobs.
  17. I don't want to nitpick but Scruple according to the dictionary means : "To hesitate as a result of conscience or principle" A panel beater with scruples therefore is an oxymoron - a contradiction in terms. What you probably meant was unscrupulous panel beater. They are everywhere. I had a run in with one or two. They always end up winning the fight. It is like playing poker with a guy called Ace with mirrors all round.
  18. Nice couch. The bike also looks very fast.
  19. Depends really on the condition of the bike. It is like TNT1 said on the thin edge of the wedge. It wasn't a big bargain at any rate.
  20. Why do you want to know - the damage is done.
  21. I am not sure I want to find out.
  22. Blilliant pics - thanks.
  23. Armstrong does Mexico Tyler Hamilton, Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis Lance Armstrong's world tour continued at the weekend, with the American present for the start of Vuelta Mexico Telmex in North America. Armstrong attended the event's launch at the Botanical Gardens in the city of Oaxaca, where he appeared on stage with other American attractions Tyler Hamilton (Rock Racing) and Floyd Landis (Ouch-Maxxis). The seven time Tour de France winner was also on hand to wave the flag on stage one and posed for images with stage one winner Juan Pablo Magallanes (Mexican National Team). Armstrong's Astana squad isn't contesting the 2.2 race, however his Under 23 team ? Livestrong Trek ? is taking part in the race. Lance couldn't find anyone else to join him but two dopers? He should fire his PR team.
