  1. If you use a Garmin 305 or similar - open the route in the Training Centre software. Just select the profile and nothing else (elevation). On the your keyboard above the numeric pad you will find a print screen key. Press that and open something a program like Microsoft Paint. Select paste from the menu and you should have the entire screen pasted into paint. You can from there just cut the profile and paste it into a new document or into word ect. Works for me. If memory serves me correctly the climbs in and out are approximately 1700m both days. About 3400m for both then. Be prepared to hurt.
  2. I have the profile from last year on my GPS and will post it as soon as I get to my Laptop again. Wickus from Ecobound should have one available too - it was printed on the shirts last year.
  3. My wife would kill me if I put my bike on her white sofa - even if it was on Orbea.
  4. Good point well made.
  5. The reason they didn't broadcast was because it was postponed to tomorrow because of a wet track and dangerous conditions. 10:00 Beijing time so 02:00 our time. Don't know if it will be broadcast though.
  6. Just to clear it up; I also think that Mtb gets way too little exposure - if you think of how many people are actually actively involved in the sport in this country. Maybe some people in the know should write to News24 instead of complaining about it in Forums which they obviously don't read.
  7. Burry should probably finish top ten if nothing goes wrong. I don't know if he has the legs to beat the Swiss guys when he is on his own like this. Vogel, Shurter and Sauser should be formidable. Peraud and defending champ Absalon should also be too strong as a French connection. I will be rooting for Burry but I fear it is a brigde too far.
  8. I'll go with the Crow on this one. The fork is imo the life of the ride. There should't be that much difference in the shifting but the difference in the handling would be clear.
  9. I am not one of those 'whites', but didn't we get into trouble a while back for fielding an older player in the Soccer World Cup for under 15's? Taking the moral high ground here is a bit hypocritical.
  10. Looks like poetry in motion.
  11. Who cares if she is in the Olympics?
  12. Even as someone who does not like road bikes this is a thing of beauty. I do ride a Giant Mtb so I might be a tad partial to Taiwanese Sweat Shop bikes.
  13. I think only pro's can afford to race a mtb that light. That frame and shock is shaved so thin, it won't last for anyone that is not 63 kg's like Paulissen or Fugelsang, or if you have to race it for three years until you can afford a new one.
  14. I see that Geg Minnaar got 1st place in the Downhill the Weekend in Canada and Burry Stander got 3rd in the Cross Country. This is great for South African Cycling - especially the Cross Country as we have someone who competes at the sharp en of most of the World Cup. Greg Minnaar is now the overall leader of the Series. Why then does their achievements often go unnoticed and unreported?
  15. I love my SB8 onboth front and rea. Never tried Crossmark but I have been a fan of TT for a long time. IMO tires are the same as bike - very little difference really - just preference.
  16. They have SID on the Anthem Advanced too. Looks good - wonder what it weighs
  17. The bikes look pretty good from the pictures. The proof however is in the ride.
  18. I can't see why woman can't do the same distances cycling as they do the same distances running marathons and even ultra marathons and seem to keep up. The Rocky Mountain pair of Sydor and Sundstedt finished 15th overall in th eEpic this year.
  19. She is beautifull - looks better next to the Bakkie though. More of a hardcore bike...
  20. Great pics. Thanks for posting them too. I had a lot of trouble finding results. I got a bonus finding the pics too. David George must be in good form - he won the Mtb race yesterday comfortably too.
  21. I watched the clip on youtube last night and I can't see how Sauser was demoted. It sucks. Looked like Sauser had the line and only moved in one direction. Paulissen rode into the back of him. Sauser should have won.
  22. I also run XT Fd with X9 shifters. I think the best reason, and mine, is that X9 shifters shift XT Fd. I changed my XT Rd for X9 and there was no need to change the front one. If the front one goes south I'll replace it with X9.?
  23. Sauser seems impressed too - with the bike not his legs. Interesting that they have the shock under the top tube now. It seems on some of the photo's that there still is a "brain" at the back left hand side. Specialized claim 700g drop in weight.
  24. I tried e-bay without luck. Put a lookout for it though. If any comes along I should get notified. I bought a set of 517's to ride in the meantime. Just a waste to let them gather dust in the garage...
  25. I have no idea. The LBS said it is formula hubs. There is no markings or labels or model or serial numbers to be seen on the hubs. I don't know.
