  2. It's important to know because it's an accurate measure of the work you are doing or pushing through to the pedals. Not a power guru but trying to learn. BikeMax or bruce might have a more accurate answer for you or they may just tell you to try the search function . I need to seriously get a PT for my racing wheels
  3. Yup... But it's the power you will need to maintain while going up at 25kph that's a b*tch... I think that would be round about 7 - 8 minutes Think Lance averaged 23.5kph in the 2004 TDF up Alp d Huez, 15km's with 1100m ascent. According to the calculator he was pushing 442W for 39m 45s And that's without doping !! Jason2008-01-31 01:24:13

  5. Heres a nice little power calculator. You can calculate the power you need to push when going up or on flat etc. You can fill in your bike weight, tubbies etc. For example: A rider weighing 72kg going up Hekpoort, a 2.7km climb with 187m elevation at a speed of 25kph he will need to push 477W . http://www.2peak.com/tools/powercalculator.php Would you say this is accurate bruce? Or just a more or less figure? Jason2008-01-30 07:46:35

    My Ride!

Sweet ride dude! Suppose that yellow one is now a fully converted MTB ride? Saw you gave it an offroad test the weekend and it handled pretty sweet... Good luck for the weekend!
  7. eish! You got big balls' date=' gotta give you that![/quote'] Yup... and soon those balls are gonna get wrapped round his neck... Prince Naseem Hamed is going down!
  8. So what's your HR at the moment? 0 bpm, now bugger off... I'm straight try Spidey...
  9. GreyOwl ol lad, assuming I'm an idiot, that would make two of us if I look at your profile. It looks like you're on the wrong forum here chap. Needle work and bowls, shouldn't you be a bit more concerned about the grass on your bowling greens and the type of colour you wanna use to knit your next socks rather than coming here and worrying about what cyclists do?
  10. Apparently support vehicles make it even worse! Jason2008-01-29 00:40:21
  11. Ahhh... How did I know you were gonna say something... I'll mail you my training route so you can knock me over some time when I skip a red light at 4 AM
  12. I know it's illegal but face it! It's gonna happen in 2009, 2010, 2011 etc, so live with it! It's not peak hour traffic... Sunday, 08:00AM? Come on.
  13. I don't have a problem with the chaps riding back on the highway, as long as there's a support vehicle behind them... If it's some chap on his own with no one and no support... then it's really stoopit!
  14. Thanks IanJ, was hoping you would mail them for me and then come back here and say do this... Just kidding ol chap, will try them. The material is different so I'll see...
  15. ... Man, in the "Only in SA" thread you post such an intelligent post... you come here and post k@k , jy weet... but you right... we have a rep to uphold... Now help me! Wil my draad lube
  16. I was just wondering... The cable within the housing, do you need to lube it? Both gear and braking cables, if so, what is the best?
