  1. I came close to pulling the trigger on one of these a couple months back. I wanted the diesel as it would encourage me to drive better from a fuel consumption point of view. (I currently have two cars - a Ford Focus ST which I give stick whenever its safe as I like the feeling of power as the turbo take over - and a Land Rover V8 petrol which I drive very slowly as it is not enjoyable to drive fast due to the nature of the engine which makes an awful racket at high revs). In other words, I was worried if I bought the petrol Tiguan I would drive it more like the Ford less like the Land Rover - the diesel engine would force me to drive it like the Land Rover.
  2. The issue with new standards is parts. Go to your local bike shop and ask for a 27.5' tire or rim strip and you might come up short. Of course, if it takes off then that problem will fix itself. I could see myself buying a 27.5' trail bike, but I already have a 26' trail bike and its great.
  3. Mods are elected to ban people if they deem necessary. If they ban your chommie, trying to start a popular uprising is going to get you banned too.
  4. What starts? The longest argument ever about wheel sizes on the Hub?
  5. "Unfortunately you cant buy rear or front separate so you need to buy both" CRC sell some versions seperately.

  7. I would do this: XT brakes with Ice rotors (people have been singing their praises) SLX crank (not so important) XTR rear shifter (shifters make the biggest difference to shifting) XT delailer (I noticed a difference when I changed from SLX) Deore front derailer. Of course they normally sell it sets, in which case: SLX - fine XT - worth it if you can afford the extra money. XTR - you plan to win races or earn more than R1 million pa.
  8. Bah. They will be like the 2012 ones. With a differerent paint job.
  9. Clearly not the usual suspects as spelling, grammer and cycling knowedge is good. Disturbing.
  10. I find this thread thoroughly depressing as while you will be riding I will be working...in JHB...in winter. Sigh.
  11. +1 for Johan Bornman.
  12. Technical doesn't work for races because it ends in bottlenecks, broken collarbones and unhappy novice riders. Since there is a lot of them it is them who pay a large portion of the entry fee and attract the bigger sponsors. Van Gaalens has plenty technical. Race against your previous best time. Be sure to include the section called 'Broken Collarbone - Danger Very Technical' and 'Pofadder'.
  13. Bah humbug. They are both boring and value for money. Let the paint job be the decider.
  14. Germany has something like 50 000kms of dedicated bicyle track.
  15. they just welded the crack in my car's mag wheel. Why should your frame be any different.
  16. You have to follow the instructions exactly. If you have an existing email address on iTunes its no good. Start a new one. Register a new iTunes account and insert a fake US physical address obtained from the web. Use a MacDonalds or something. When it asks for a payment method choose nothing. Do not add a credit card or it won't work. Then buy voucher from Wildtwig or anywhere else. I understand it is dishonest, but what is also dishonest is this Amazon/iTunes zoning bs that Americans can buy things from them but not South Africans. It is less dishonest than pirating which is way easier than the above btw.
  17. Sledgehammer. Then claim from insurance. Don't get caught or you go to chookie.
