I did the Race last year for the first time and must admit it was NOT as difficult as expected. You also will not fall off the edge of the world . Day 2 is tough but not too bad. My average weekly traing was 5 hours (twice up to nine hours). Relax, you'll enjoy it.

Can't say I'm glad to have been of help. I don't blame the organisers but myself. I must've taken the wrong line resulting in the crash. The course was superb but tough, just as a MTB event should be.

I've been told I was one of those guys though I have no recollection of it. I do all my riding in that area and that section is not too technical (if I'm thinking of the right section). There is a gap in my memory from just below the quarry to getting into my car and driving home. The roasties and concussion tell me something bad happened! My HR monitor says I was doing 43K's when I crashed. Have you any more info? Were the eother guys OK?
