  1. Honestly, I feel so desensitized about pro's doping I don't even care anymore. It's a sad state to be in, but honestly, do we really think the pro's that aren't banned are clean? A lot are, a LOT haven't been caught. NH, DG, LA and all the rest are very talented cyclists that made bad calls in a worse environment. Losing to someone who dopes shouldn't be a reason to dope, but honestly, given the circumstances I can't say all reasonable men I know, myself included, wouldn't choose what they did.
  2. Its not exactly a bullet coffe, but at Motherland coffee in Dunkeld theres one called the Dictator: Double Espresso, whipped cream and condensed milk it moered me out of my brackets (Im am a lil sensitive to caffeine though) Was literally still jittery late last night and I had it before lunch..
  3. Thats what Ive been thinking the whole time! (Just in less detail) I'd like to hear from someone who knows, 'cus I don't, how hard it would be to pick up that tiny amount of banned substance (cmon, if we're believing "honest mistake contamination" it could only be a minuscule mount transferred) in his system, and how long it stays there. I can't say he is lying, and I am glad he's off because I want to see him race, but one can't help but think it's a little suspicious given the history of our beloved sport.
  4. Make a friend who is on Momentum Multiply. They have a webstore, I got the tri-bundle for R3600, deal!
  5. Any takers? Otherwise ima crack the code on this thing, well, try..
  6. Yo Howdy. Found a black cable bike on the spruit just down from the dam area.. Im in Emmarentia.. PM me cheers
  7. Looks like such a siiick track!
  8. Just read this - good read!! Partner and I assumed our "race names" again.. I am Vonkiedool and he is Barkvallas. (It would make more sense if you're a dutchman - its a spoonerism) We used "spoeg" and "plak" as terms for holding back or sticking slip.. great fun
  9. my quick 2c on the training: More. Lots more. Shes managed to do relatively well with little training and natural talent but reeling in that 30 minute gap takes a whole lot more. Maybe not full time, yet, but maybe she should work in a couple of interval session with her current training, its short and lekker effective..
  10. I want to, but am in Jozi. Eish!
  11. Haha thanks, was a good tumble. Wil put up video of it tomorrow. Andy, if you want the full file PM me your email address and I'll dropbox it to ya.
  12. My 2c: (I'm pretty much your size, btw) If you dont have the cash now, I'd aggree with Hayden too. Smack some kit on and ride it like you stole it.. DEFS a dropper seatpost, best investment I ever made. When your ship arrives however. Looking for a solid bike to do XC but still play on at a decent price I can recommend the Scott Genius. The 29" comes with 130mm travel, 650B with 150mm I think. The twinlock system makes it GREAT for XC and for some serious downhill fun too. I've destroyed Jonkers and G with it on my good days. Its really a lekke bike, good suspension and the dropper post is the cherry on the cake. There are a others out there - I like the twinlock system on the Genius.
  13. Yep Nope
  14. Also got my bail, and some other good shots, on a mates action cam, won us both a GoPro with the GoPro competition.. Great success!! But now I cant bend my leg because of roasties...
  15. interesting.. I've had a good couple of sidewall slits on Schwalbes but this is new
  16. What in cycling IS real then? The riders are fake, the bikes are fake.. What if fake is real and we've been getting shafted all along?! The Armstrongs are the only real ones!!
  17. Watching the video again now brought a thought to mind. When the car moves forward the videographer says something like "im telling all of you, you f***ers". Could it be that the driver is one of those arsed up people permanently angry at the cycling community? Its not at all the point of the story and the "mob" needs to be exposed, but it just made me think about how many drivers hate cyclists unnecessarily. Just a thought.
  18. So our response to people behaving like apes, is behaving like apes to people? Nah. Sworn, spit at, maced and a high five to the face with a wheel because of an affiliation to a club whose name a few jerks tarnished is just as bad as the initial event itself. This is like foreigners saying South Africans are murderers when we know that it's only some. We'd want a break then, give the good okes in the club a break now.
  19. Sorry mate.. Good Luck! While we're donnering the motorists the opportunists strike!
  20. For the love of lance.. The following items (read:sins) are to be removed from all bicycles IMMEDIATELY: - "The plastic thingy" aka spoke protector - Wheel reflectors - Those orange stickers that come out on you disc rotors - "Made in Taiwan" stickers.. Nobody wants to know your bike was made in Taiwan.. Especially not if its worth R100k - Gel seat covers (SERIOUSLY!!!) - Underwear under spandex (If you do this I stop talking to you immediately) - Your old Argus/94.7 stickers.. No it doesn't give you street cred, that what Epic is for, and your calves if you've done Epic. - Bottle cages of different shape/colour - TBC Put an end to unnecessary noobing..
  21. 2012 Shirts were great, I still wear mine. 2013 and 2014 shirts sits like a polo neck T-shirt and is most definitely a serious "budget" job. This is sub standard for the amazing event that IM70.3 is, especially considering the rise in entry fees and cut down of peripherals. I don't do the race for the shirt and the luxuries don't bother me much, but handing out kr@ppee shirts ruins the friendship. Id rather have the option to pay an additional fee and get the real deal.
  22. IMHO.. Virb is cool if you have a garmin you can connect it to, and plus side is it has a screen, so you can see what you're deleting if you need some memory space on the trail. I'm also a bigger fan of the Virb mounts etc. Gopro is sometimes hassles. Its also a wee bit cheeper. Gopro flagship (Black Edition) definitely has better imaging, if you have the computer to handle it at its highest setting, and have a need for 4k videos you can go for it. It's a well put together machine with disappointing battery life, as most of our toys. Depending on what you use it for, the two different shapes of the cams also have their small advantages respectively. I, as your average consumer, like to see vids there and then so I can show me gram-gram, and am not hoping for any cinematography awards so don't need any more vid quality than Virb gives. I don't care about the billion settings GoPro offers, but if you're gonna use them goForit . I like pushing the button and seeing cool details about my activity on screen that no one really cares for. BTW, I have a GoPro, and it's awesome. I've seen Virb and like it more for us average Joe's that don't really go Spielberg that much. You won't far wrong either way really, action cams are awesome!! Happy shopping man!
  23. V gettin serious eh? Ya i guess its as simple as you summed it up up there, its just a clash between exactly that, fast or fun.. Haha.. Ill sleep on it, for the next month.. Thanx!
  24. I'm going for the Stumpy FSR or Epic, both full sussers..
