  1. You can also get Google Drive, mine says I've used 1Gb of 30Gb!! That should be enough space.
  2. Studies have shown that there is no difference between eating 5 small meals vs 3 big ones. 3 meals a day makes sense and it is easier to do and maintain. Plus plus with some of those that ate 3 meals a day consumed less because the actually reached satiety where the 5 meal a day eaters didn't.
  3. How much of a difference is there between 6700 and 6800, or is the 6800 just 11 speed? (Specifically the shifters) I'm looking to upgrade my 7800 STIs to the Ultegra 6700s. edit: Hijack On.. I suppose the other question is, is the 6700 pull ratio on the gears and brakes the same as the 7800 DAs?
  4. Indeed it is. I had group work to do this evening and only landed up getting home at 9:30. Despite not having eaten for 10 hours - although I was starving here at the end - I showed no signs of energy dips. I was pleasantly surprised.
  5. Late afternoon energy slumps can be early signs of type 2 diabetes. But real emphasis on the early... In your case it is most likely a case of not consuming enough calories throughout the day, if you had to count you'd probably find that you will have a huge shortfall especially if you are skipping breakfast. So in a nut shell it is your diet at fault.
  6. Were you the guy on the Surly? Must have been fun.
  7. Had that happen on my front dérailleur when replacing the cable, there is too much tension in the cable to allow the shifter to complete the movement and engage the big blade. Although I don't think that's the issue here. It sounds like the spring that is meant to keep the brake lever in place has "lost" a bit of its tension? thus not returning or keeping the lever in the appropriate place.

  9. Or post the URL. Well unless you don't want to reveal your sources.
  10. What lights? The only reason that I knew someone was there was because of those brakes, I thought you were using them as some sort of sonar.
  11. Here are the Rayton routes I was talking about. http://app.strava.com/activities/35911373 http://app.strava.com/activities/26184242
  12. Yes and safe. Here are some rides. http://app.strava.com/activities/63501451 http://app.strava.com/activities/44589711 http://app.strava.com/activities/37230714 http://app.strava.com/activities/28574887
  13. Alone with "moving" shadows, I nearly jumped off my bike at one point because I thought something was running at me.
  14. Was that you? Myself and the one Biogen guy heard you from quite a far way back in the dark while going through the first winding section. Had a good laugh, got the sense of humour going again. Felt bad though when you let us "racing snakes" pass you shortly thereafter causing one of you to nearly fall when your front wheel found a ditch. Sorry if my little bell annoyed anyone.
  15. Strange, maybe my PC but whether it's Chrome or Firefox neither show up.
  16. None of these are showing.
  17. Yebo, but instead of turning left onto the Bronkies R104 rd we usually go right and then left onto the road that becomes the R495 and turn left to come out at the top of Rayton. Although what I'm describing we usually do in reverse after coming off of the railway line that runs from Mamelodi towards Rayton.
  18. I'm in a similar boat, I'm looking to replace 2005 Dura Ace 7800 STI's (external gear cables) with 2010 Ultegra 6700 STI's which are only 30g heavier. I'm looking for a cleaner cockpit but it is a bit pricey to go with new Dura Ace levers.
  19. Very impressive. Lets hope he gets to build that track too.
  20. Do you at least know the Donkerhoek dirt road (heavily corragated) that comes out at a T-junction on the Rayton road just before it goes over the N4? As it (the Rayron rd) crests the hill before the N4 is a dirt road to the right which takes you past the quarry which can take you to Rayton (left at eventual T-junction) or turn right back to the Bronkies road and onto Oxbow. I'm not sure about this Pienaars river though.
  21. Not really, I tend to wing it most of the time. My knowledge of trails up north are shocking though.
  22. What is your guys opinion on McCain frozen mixed veggies or the equivalent like the Harvestime brand. Does one need to worry about GMO with these type of products?
  23. It might be the FWB bearings that are shot, one show sign is if the cassette would have play on it as if it wasn't tightened properly. In that case the bearings would be totally shot. But I'd go with what V12man said, service/replace all the bearings in the hub and free wheel body. It is quite cheap if you buy the bearings yourself and have a little know how on pulling things apart and reassembling them. I had a funny situation a few months back, the rear wheel would spin forward freely but you could not turn the crank nor rotate the wheel backwards.
  24. I also used to get a numb left foot but only in my road shoes (numbness started after I injured the tendons in my foot, couldn't walk for a week or two) but then I just loosened the straps and the pain seemed to have disappeared. Then numbness did persist for about 2-3months though before I decided to try loosening the shoe.
  25. Had an awesome Saturdays racing at the 12hr @ Avianto. Was really tough and totalled 114km in 6h06 (13 laps) with my average HR being 81% of max. 2h30 was spent above threshold. There was no pain in the legs besides for fatigue. I must have had about 250g of carbs throughout the day but was always after I had completed my laps or while riding. Carbs besides for my bottles was 1.5kg butternut and sweet potato. Funny enough I only had 1 gel and didn't eat anything else while on the bike. Interesting note, since upping my carbs I reach satiety sooner than I did before but get hungry a lot sooner afterwards.
